You have posted a laptop question in the desktop section. Laptop disassembly is not something you just jump into like a desktop. Laptop components are very small, and not made for assembly/disassembly. The connectors are conductive paint on ribbons, and if you remove them more than once or twice you can break the whole laptop and it won't work at all. What are you trying to do exactly. Anything more than a hard drive or memory change you should take to a technician.

I have a Sony VAio, Model PCG-7Q1l. The fan is noisy and to remove the back, I need to remove the DVD player. I took out the screw and while the player is loose, it won't come out. I don't see

PCG-7Q1L is the Chassis number.

VGN-FJxxx should be the model number.

Ummm, VGN-FJ350

There is a semi-metallic rubber band, holding the DVD drive from the inside, and.............

NO! I'M JUST KIDDING!

It's a little green Martian man, tugging back from the other side.

After you remove the Philips head screw, tap the DVD drive's tray release button.
Ease the tray all the way out to the extended position, and then gently pull on it.
Pull DVD drive out of laptop.

Disassembly instructions for sony pcg-3f1m laptop

From experience a lot of these things are designed the same, that's why they have a root key.

This guide should be a general fix for all PCG in Sony's Vaio.

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disassemble-sony-vaio-pcg-k-notebook/

It's not going to be completely exact, but it should be next to exact with how you take it apart. Screws should be the same, panels, and such on so fourth.

I hope this helps.

How to open keyboard of sony vaio pcg-6rfl

Remove the Power Cord and the Battery. Turn the laptop over and start removing screws from the bottom of it. There might be screws on the bottom that hold the keyboard, normally they will have the keyboard icon by them. Once you have the screws removed Look inside the battery case to remove any screws. Sometimes there will be screws that hold the keyboard and the strip that is above the keyboard inside the battery case.

Next turn the laptop back over and open the lcd lid. Remove the strip that is above the keyboard. Be careful because there might be a cable attached to the bottom of the strip. Once the strip is removed there might be screws that it was hiding that hold the keyboard so remove them. Now you can lift the keyboard out, but be careful because there is a cable attached to the back of the keyboard.

Sony pcg-tr1f laptop

The hard drive is hidden inside, and you have to take the palm rest off to get to it. Take the srews at the bottom out, take the keyboard off and replace the screws underneath. then pry off the palm rest. There are Laptop Repair Guides that show how to open a Laptop. Watch out for the ribbon cables, those tear easily. Replacement parts are usually available on Ebay. There are third party services that can do it for you, like Sony Repair NYC.
