While there are many places that repair laptops...it is important to find a company that has experience and is trustworthy.

You can search the internet and also have a look at our Depot Repair service:

Good luck to you my friend,'

SeekPCRepair

P.S. Be cautious of any company that asks for money upfront.

Turn on Network and Sharing Center Acer Aspire 4720z

Hello,

You need to install the drivers for those components. GO to the website of your computer's manufacturer and install the updated drivers for those hardware and make sure that the drivers are compatible with windows 8.

After installing all drivers, make sure to keep them updated so that you can avoid from getting any problems. Install RadarSync if you want to automate the driver updating mechanism of your computer.

I hope this helps!

Can i put a hdd from a aspire 5610 in to a5580

1) Acer Aspire 5610 series Notebook PC, uses a standard sized
SATA laptop harddrive.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acer-Aspire-5610-SATA-Hard-Drive-Caddy-w-Screws-/380170405559

[ Standard size laptop harddrive; 2.5 inches across in width. ( 2 and a half inches, or 63.5mm ]

2) Acer Aspire 5580 uses an IDE (PATA) harddrive, that is standard laptop size.

http://www.upgradecomputermemory.com/ram.cfm//memory/a/Acer/AcerAspire-Notebook-Series/Aspire5580Notebook/80GB-Notebook-Hard-Drive-for-the-Acer-Aspire-5580-Notebook.html

[ Scroll down to the subheading - Interface: ATA-100 ]

It isn't just the harddrive caddy that is different.

The two technologies are different, IDE (PATA) and SATA, therefore the interface is also.

[ Interface:
In this example I am referring to the pin connector, the harddrive plugs into ]

Parallel ATA,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_ATA#IDE_and_ATA-1

Serial ATA,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA

Adapter for the SATA harddrive (5610) to the IDE (PATA ) interface in the 5580 laptop?
Won't work.

1) The technologies are different.
2) There is a Chipset, or more than one, for this bus controller. The 5580 doesn't have a SATA version.

( Chip and Chipset are slang terms for I.C.
Integrated Circuit,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_circuit )

This would make one think, "Hey, I'll just buy an IDE (PATA) 2.5 harddrive."

Nope.

Once Windows Vista is installed it is a 'Bear' to write XP over it.
There is a Correct procedure. This is left to an experienced person.
(Even an experienced tech may have problems)

Also, IF you do get XP to write over Vista, you may be required to Activate again. (Not register, activate)

To explain further;
When Windows is installed on a computer, hash values are assigned to certain major hardware components.

Some examples may be the Processor, Motherboard, Harddrive, and graphics chipset.

More specifically for the Motherboard, it is the motherboard chipset, and the BIOS program. (Version and date)

Change any two of these hardware components, and Windows may want to be activated again.

Suggest new IDE (PATA) harddrive for the 5580, and use the Restoration Disk.

Don't have one?
Computer manufacturers stopped including a Restoration CD Disk.
(I do believe they have started again, though)

Many users felt uncomfortable trying to repair their computer, took it to a shop, and never bothered using the disk.
Many lost the disk.

Let's say the disk cost around $1.
Take that times 50,000 computers or so. The computer manufacturer is saving money, not including a disk the majority, seems to not want to use.

The computer manufacturers started including a restoration partition, on the harddrive. (That's nice unless you have graphics problems, and can't see what is going on)

When the computer is new, and the owner starts the computer for the first time, there is a pop up asking if you wish to make a Backup.
THIS, is your Restoration Disk.

The new owner is ONLY asked ONE time. If the owner clicks on 'Never show this again', the opportunity is GONE.

What to do?
New IDE (PATA) harddrive, see what it costs a shop to put Vista (Same version) on it.

OR,
Buy a new Vista, or Windows 7 genuine copy, and install it.
HOWEVER, before trying to install Win7, make SURE there are drivers for Win7 available.

If not, DO NOT install Win7.

(Microsoft makes ONE master disk of an Operating System.
{ And version } From it all GENUINE copies are made, and sold to the consumer )

Summary:
1) New IDE (PATA) harddrive
2) Have Vista installed, or see if drivers are available, and install Win7.

For clarification on anything I have stated, or additional questions, please post in a Comment.

Hi, I own an Acer Aspire M5630 Standard desktop

Hi,
A branded computer uses Original Equpment Manufacturer (OEM) version of Operating System, hence if you change any hardware it will go to the trial version of OS automatically. Hence, you have to use the full system recovery disk to reinstall the OS.

Might be hardware problem. So better send it to service center. Or you can try to take out the camera, remove the camera cable and plug it in back. I think this model got design issue for the camera.

Hi,

Offhand I would suspect video and/or its drivers. Pls try starting in "Safe Mode" and determine if problem persists. If no, then you may need to reload/update your video drivers, if yes, then you have a problem with the video card (hardware). I believe an Acer Aspire 5100 uses ATI Radeon® Xpress 1100 chipset. Am no just sure if it is an add-on card or integrated into the motherboard. Perhaps what you can do is to open the panels underneath the laptop and verify if the different cards including the memory are seated correctly.

Additionally, a post by Mark_Webber, another FixYa expert, addressed a slightly similar concern with another Acer Aspire 5100 here. It might be of additional information. This page might be interesting if not likewise informative.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Acer Notebook 5610Z - Want XP Drivers

if your currently able to surf the internet with your vista os id suggest downloading the drivers for windows xp from the manufacturer onto a usb storage device like a thumb drive or external hard drive(hdd).
after you have all the drivers you'll need have:
the windows xp disk.
1)before you restart the computer insert the windows xp disk into the cd-rom

2)resart the computer

3)when the computer starts to post press the appropriate hotkey to enter the bios(usually f1,f2 or delete key) it'll tell you on the splash screen.

4)check the boot order in the bios making sure the cdrom is the first boot device. if it is press f10 to save and let the computer boot.

5)on the upper left of the screen you'll see (boot from cd)press any key(hit a key quickly)
windows xp will then start loading on the computer.

6)windows will look for previous installations of operating systems and display them on the screen

7)click on the partition w/the current os (when you click the os will be highlighted)

8)xp will give you the choice to install delete or format the current partition

9)choose to delete the partition

after you delete the partition windows will show a matrix of the hard drive without partitions (RAW SPACE)
