Question about Televison & Video

MDP 1070 When the unit is turned on the loading icon turns on and stays there. The disk starts rotating,the disk starts to rotate and increases in speed for about 2 seconds, slows down and then starts to ramp again. This is an endless pattern. What's wrong? here can I get it repaired in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Hi,

Your posted description is indicative that the laser eye/lens is not reading the disc. This could probably be attributed to:
1. dirty, damaged, inverted, blank, un-finalized burned CDs or DVDs;
2. defective, weak burned-out laser eye/lens;
3. defective slider shafting (where the laser eye's carriage moves.

A few things you can try:
1. Use a CD cleaner (readily available from most computer shops);
2. use a can of compressed air and blow through the inside of the loaded disc area;
3. gently tap on the top cover where you estimate the reading/laser eye/lens would be;
4. gently press on the tray door once the disc is loaded.

Should this not be corrective, your post for Service Center might be your best bet. Unfortunately to my knowledge, your product was manufactured in China and the US carrying company is out of business, hence no official service center. It was Mintek Digital Inc. of Anaheim, Calif.

Should you still want old info:
Website: http://www.mintekdigital.com
Address: 4915 E. Hunter Ave.
Anaheim, California 92807
Phone: 714-777-3090
E-mail: techsupport@mintekdigital.com
Fax: 714-777-5933

Alternately, your friendly neighborhood electronic shop should do just fine.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kindest regards.

TOSHIBA MODEL 32RV530U WILL NOT TURN ON YELLOW LIGHT IN FRONT BLINKS 3 TIMES

This could very well be a problem with the power supply not allowing the TVs to start up but can also be caused by a problem with the TVs firmware. I would suggest downloading the firmware and following the steps from the following link. The download and steps are in the firmware tab after clicking the link. Be sure that even if you have no picture while applying the firmware update that you under no circumstances remove power from tv for at least 15mins. This is to ensure the firmware completely loads. If you remove power while it's still updating the board may be corrupted. http://support.toshiba.ca/support/ceg/center/en/index.asp?p=32RV530U

Unplug from wall, and hold power button it for about a minute. Replug and turn on and see if that resets unit. If not, it needs repair.

Sony 5-disk carousel player will not open. Model DVP-NC685V.

Disc loading mechanism fault. Might be due to a broken loading belt, or broken gear wheel/s. You have to take the mechanism out from the device for repair, and it is somewhat skilled work. Contact any service technician to get this set repaired. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have pioneer plasma tv about 6 years old. I turned the power on, sound but no picture. Do you think it is worth fixing?

no
plasma tv units consume considerable power and the latest led units don't so for the extra cost of a new unit , there will be a power saving over the years

Remove the headphone if its a wired one or turn of teh headset if its bluetooth. If the problem still persists then go into settings then sound and look of an option there. If you have an ipad, just turn of the airplay feature.
