Question about 2wire 2700HG-B Router (2700HGB)

1 Answer

Can't access pages previously accessed

I am now unable to connect to some websites such as Amazon.com and a couple others. I was able to last week and nothing has changed since then. This is for both my wireless and hard wired computers. I had this problem once before and called tech support at Embarq and they just replaced the modem which worked. Is there a simple answer to fix this problem without replacing the modem again? I can access anything else on the net no problem.

Finally got ahold of my service provider and he said they are having technical problems with the servers and walked me through some temp changes to my IP addresses which fixed the problem.

Have a D-Link 615 Router. Seems when one of us in on the Wifi, the other is unable to access the Wifi. Both of us have I-Pads. Why can't we access together? We used to about a week ago. What do

You should be able to , that begs the question, is youe ISP "throttling" the signal? Is there a problem with the equipment. inside or outside? Have you checked ALL cables, reseated ALL connections, rebooted the ISP Modem, the wireless device? Is the wireless Secured? As you move about the house is that when you lose connection? If you are sitting next to the D-Link will it stay connected? It may be outside? Contact your ISP and have them analyze the signal, have a ISP tech come out and analyze.

I am unable to open site www.ramsurvey.com from last one week.please help me.I think this is blocked due to unsured site

Here is a great site to use if you want to know if a website is blocked:
www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com

Go to this site, then in the box type in the site you are trying to access (in your case ramsurvey.com).

The website will tell you if ramsurvey.com is actually offline, or just inaccessible by you.

I set up wireless network for my boss, using Belkin wireless n router, so the 3 computers can connect to the same wireless printer, and she can access this network with her home laptop. All is well except...

If possible, to rule out the modem as the cause, connect a computer directly to the internet(bypassing the router entirely). If it is the router, you could try flashing it back to factory defaults and reconfigure. Log into the router's firewall feature and see if port 443 is blocked to the outside--this could cause https connections to fail.

I'm unable to get wireless connection to the internet after i replaced a new modem. Directy connection from modem to laptop is fine. Both my laptop and PC are able to detect the wireless network but are...

disconnect all the connections from the router. connect only the computer to the port 1 on the router. check the lights on the router. Reset the router for 30 seconds . unplug the power to the router. plug it back in. wait for 1 minute.now check the IP address on the computer. Win XP = click start ==> run ==> type cmd in run box and click ok. you will see the command prompt. in the black window type ipconfig and hit enter. now you will get the IP address and the Default gateway. Default gateway will be the number of your router. This will open the roputer set up. not check the settings on the router. If you connect the modem to the router, it works. now reconfigure the router as per ISP. Click Here for more info about how to set up router

Securing a wireless connection

To secure your wireless connection, do you mean by
1. Encryption using WEP or WAP
2. MAC address filtering on your wireless card
3. Disabling SSID broadcast.
If so you need to configure your wireless settings using Internet Explorer, the URL would be http://192.168.2.1 (check the config. TCP/IP address in your manual)
