Remove the battery and just leave it off the computer, then plug in the power cord and try it. If it works with no battery...the battery is completely dead and you need to replace.
Try uninstalling the RAM memory for a minute or two and start the machine with no memory, then reinstall the memory and start again, it should boot right up.

Take out the battery and plug in only the power adapter and see if it comes on.
If it does then leave out the battery for about 15 minutes and then put it back in.
