I have that issue also where the green light flashed 3 times then nothing. So I took the back off and checked out the boards after reading these articles and found the left front board fried. It has a burned spot on bottom about 3 inches in Diameter. The barcoded sticker has PSB-850. Where can I get this board.

hey Terryfic found this in another post and it fixed my problem! dont know how to past link to other post but here this is"Unplug the TV of course and remove the back lower panel.Blow the dust
off so you can see the components clearly.Have a bright light and look
at capacitor CP158 16V 2200uF Green in color with gold (NEG)stripe
which is located on rear board to your left. This baby was hard to see
because it sets/hides behind the metal heat sink fence.Mine was bulged
at the top and had brown ozz coming out at top.None of the rest looked
this way.You have to unplug several ribbon cables and power wires to
remove board so you can flip it over and un-solder it to put in a new
one.The board just slides out easyly.(Important)note which side gold
negative band is on Capacitor new one has to go in same way or it will
pop. When I removed the Cap. and put analog meter on it it swung ok but
ESR was off the scale at 6.5 to 7.0 It should be .05 this was my fix
and it is like new again.I already had this Cap. but this is 92 cent
part you can get at Radio Shack Jameco etc...Make notes of where wires
unhooked from but they are pretty self explan.Take your time and double
check your work.Hope this helps.I really missed this TV but now back in
action. PS don't touch the big twin big fat
brown caps on right board these will bite at 250 Volts.Good Luck" thanks

You can change the HV splitter first, then change the flyback
transformer, if necessary.......Do be careful with part number
of transformer....check the drawing number on it ......10756 =
259296.......10799 = examples..........
I can check on that for you based on your info................T.

Changed capacitor P150 I think (2200 uF Electrolytic) It was bulged and worked for two years. Just last night went out again and now I see an arc on the corner of my flyback transformer. ****!

I checked the capacitor and it had a slight bulge. My condition was that the tv became harder and harder to get to stay on. It would try 3 times to start up and one could hear the horizontal trying.

Changed the capacitor and it started up right away.

I have been fixing tv's for about 25 years actually having my own business for many years. I have learned that in a situation such as this, it is the heat from the heat sink that dries out the capacitor. So I mount it on the bottom side of the board. Just have to make sure that one mounts it properly and the leads or the cap don't short out! Hot glue it on.

Great site, thank you!

Flashing green light

Did you try this yet

If the TV will not respond to either the remote control
or the front panel controls and/or will not power Off,
press the SYSTEM RESET button with a pointed item
like the end point of a paperclip. The TV will turn Off
and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one
minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing, you may
turn on the TV again. Changes you made the last time
the TV was On before you used the SYSTEM RESET
button may be lost, however, the changes you made
previously are not lost.
The green light is a multi-function indicator. This light
will flash rapidly for about one minute each time the TV
is plugged into the wall electrical outlet, when power
is restored after a power failure, or using the SYSTEM
RESET button. Do not attempt to turn on the TV again
during this period. Wait for the flashing to stop and
the light to turn off, before attempting to turn the TV
on. While the TV is powered on, the light illuminates
steadily. If the TV has been programmed to turn on
automatically using the Timer feature,

Tv will turn on

i believe the problem is the flyback transformer. try cleaning by using a small aerosal can. this will either correct the problem or you might have to replace it.

flyback transformer stores energy so i would suggest hiring a professional technician.
