    I actually got my TV for free from a lady who had this problem for years. She was able to afford to send it in to the shop to "fix" it over and over, and she gave it to us because she was tired of fixing it. I brought it home, plugged it in and let it sit for about 4-6 hours and then it worked. I changed the power saving settings and I didn't have a problem with it for awhile. Recently, it got to where I couldn't turn it off because I couldn't turn it back on until the power indicator stopped blinking. Now my TV has crapped out completely. It won't turn on, I unplug it and leave it unplugged for days, plug it back in and nothing changes. I leave it plugged in while it's blinking and still nothing. It has been on the fritz for about a month now. Any suggestions? I would hate to waste a perfectly good free 55 inch HDTV. LOL!!

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

WS-B55
If you check your owner's guide, it'll tell you that if the green LED is flashing, wait a minute forit to turn off before retrying power button.
I know this won't be a remedy to many, but it let me power up the set long enough to see it blooming which is a good indicator of the problem.

Good luck!

I have a Mitsubishi WD-62525 HDTV that suddenly wont turn on. Just has a green blinking light when you hit the power button. Any ideas?

I found this on another website, most likely it is your power supply capacitors.
  1. Press the "reset" button and hold for 10 seconds .... Does TV turn on and blinking green light turn to solid green.

  2. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours..... Does blinking green light continue upon plugging in the TV.

  3. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV; DVD, Tuner, Cable Box, unplug the TV for various duration times .... Does blinking green light continues upon plugging in the TV.

  4. Press Power and Menu buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  5. Press Power and Display buttons simultaneously and hold depressed for 20 seconds .... Does blinking green light continue to flash.

  6. Insure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.

Diagnosis: If none of the above test resolve the issue, then the failure lies in one of the following:

  1. DM Module Capacitors have FAILED.
  2. DM Module is defective.
  3. EEPROM Board failure
  4. Power Supply failure.

Continuous green flashing light

ther are some bad capacitors on the dm board in this tv, but this model is not layman friendly, we usually send in the entire chassis to Mitsubishi for a rebuild this cost about $300 then there is the cost of service also, this job will probably cost around $5 or 600 dollars.

Check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM PCB.
Check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22 and C8F27 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the FMT PCB.
If any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).

on the signal board replace the caps by the 5/9 volt regulators. c2p04 is the main culprit. 6 caps in total can be changed. I believe c2p05 also.
