Noise blanker does not work

    Herman, hello, we'll try to help you out here with your problem. There is about 3 different generations of that radio. They've been making them for about 8-10 years now, and kept upgrading them. The earlier ones did have a definate problem with the noise blanker. Magnum would upgrade all of them that were sent back to them,free of charge. The Delta has been deleted for the "new" Omega. These different mods that are available have to be done internally on the circuit board. Are you electronically able to work on the circuit board changes? Before I dive in any deeper, let me know how comfortable you are working on your radio. Thanks Mechanic

Herman, one thing that should help is turn on the NB and also TONE .

My magnum delta force blows the higest amp fuse!!! (shorting out)


yes it sounds as if the diode has gone short curcuit. this is at the back or near the in put socket. the diode is black with a silver end. replace with same size this should sort it out.

Magnum Delta Force Radio: The schematic does not match what is on my work bench! Schematic shows 10 tact switches,there are eight on the unit. If I trace back the leads from the rotary frequency changer...


usualy that is a sign that someone was trying to get more channels then it already has which is imposible to get any mor ok check this web site cbtricks.com go to the radio information section go to m look for the magnum radio section look for the deta force you should find all you need there. good luck with your projec and god bless you.

pin1 = mic audio,pin 2=receive, pin3= push to talk or transmit, pin5= shield.

cobra usually is white= mic audio, red= ptt, black= receive or speaker complete

Wiring a mic


The Delta Force and Omega Force are wired the same way, so if the mic is not working on the radio, check the mic out to make sure it's working. Make sure you have the mic gain turned up on the radio. I assume the mic was not wired for another style of radio??
