HP desktop- had virus- reset computer, now no sound

I've got an HP pavilion a532x. Had virus that could not get rid of.
wiped evrything off computer and reset back to factory settings (wiping off all programs I had added). Now the virus is gone, I have reinstalled most of my programs I need, but do not have sound thru speakers. Speakers are fine, have gone to sound/audio programs, went trhu troubleshooting, but everything checks out fine but still no sound. Swapped out speakers, still no sound. Something changed when I wiped everything off back to factory settings but can't figure it out.

I appreciate any help you may

It may not be a virus. It sounds more like a bad case of spyware. You may want to download, install, update, and run something like Malwarebytes AntiMalware. It sounds pretty serious, so it may need the attention of a PC technician to fully remove the infection.

Hope this helps!

Computer virus

Make a BartPE boot disc. Put an addon for an antivirus program and an antispyware program in it too. Boot the computer up from that disc, and run bot the antivirus and the antispyware program and get rid of any problems. Also, if you want/need to, back up your data with it to an external drive.
