Question about Toshiba Satellite A100-S8111TD Notebook

Toshiba A100 Laptop Model PSAABU-215033

Fails to boot to Windows on start-up. Goes to safe mode but continues to try to start without success.

    AvioriX,

Tried both suggestions. The system goes into a loop of start-up modes and re-boots every 30 seconds.

The Last known configuration also fails to allow the unit to boot.

The F8 Key ends with a statement that says " Operating System Not Found"

    Thanks,

    Dave

Have you tried to choose "Last Known Good Configuration Mode" If you haven't you may try to choose advanced boot menu by pressing the F8 key during the boot then choose "Last Know Good Configuration Mode" If issue persist please post for further assistance.

Good Luck

When was the last time you were able to use your computer?
Did you installed any software recently in your computer?
Try pressing F8 on startup and use the Last Known Good Configuration. May be that will help.

I have a toshiba laptop & half the keys on the keyboard won't work

Try to go first to Safe Mode.

Bring up the "Start" menu. Select the "Shut Down" option and then click "Restart."

Wait for the Toshiba Satellite A105 laptop to begin its restart procedure. Press the "F8" key at regular intervals (every 3-4 seconds) when the Toshiba logo pops up on the screen.

Continue tapping the "F8" button until the advanced Windows options menu appears. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list of advanced Windows options.

Highlight the option labeled "Safe Mode." Press the "Enter" key and wait for the operating system to load in safe mode.

On Safe Mode try to use the keys that are not working if it's woking it's a software problem and you need to have a System Restore for the laptop.

If it's still not working go to BIOS Settings of the laptop try to reset it to default settings.

Hit the "Power" button to turn on the computer. Press the F2 key on the keyboard. This must be done prior to the operating system loading; if the Windows OS logo has popped up, it is too late. Boot into Windows, restart the computer, and try again.

Pressing F2 on a Toshiba laptop takes you directly into the BIOS, and any settings can now be changed.

If you have successfully entered the BIOS Phoenix press F9 there will be an option that will pop out after pressing F9 the choose yes, after that press F10 there will be an option that says "Save and Quit." This will save any changes you've made, exit out of the BIOS, and restart the computer. Choose yes again, after that process the laptop will boot up now to your Windows Screen.

Try to use again the keys that are not working, if it's still not working definitely that's a hardware problem, you need to contact Toshiba Technical Support here's the phone number

800-247-7777

to assist you further with this problem or you can drop your laptop to a nearest Authorize Service Provider for Toshiba near in your place.

Hope this helps. :-)

My laptop keeps restarting without me touching the same thing

Boot into safe mode, allow it to boot completely. Then shutdown/restart as normal.

It should be back. If not, allow it to reboot and choose the "Last Known..." option and boot from there.

Good luck

Need help with toshiba dynabook satellite 1801

Sounds like you may need to re/install or update some drivers.

Attempt to boot the machine into Safe-Mode.

Continuously hitting F8 while booting will get you to the Boot Option Menu.

If you can successfully boot into Safe mode, this may be enough to put things back together.

Attempt Safe-Mode and if successful try a normal boot.

Start from there and let us know the results.

- I had the exact same problem with a eMachines W340UA and other machines. I'm not sure what this does, but I resolved it by booting into Safe-Mode. Upon successful boot into Safe-Mode (without Networking), I restarted the computer in the normal mode and it for then after worked. Please try this; though I can make no logical statement as to what occurrs or what gets fixed, I have had this method work on several machines.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Fire up the machine, after BIOS postings, continually press the F8 key. From the list of startup options, choose "Safe Mode (Without Networking). It should boot up in this mode.
After the successful boot, restart the machine and allow it to boot in normal mode. If all goes as it has for me, you will successfuly boot into Windows.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P.S: If anyone knows where the coin battery is on an eMachines w340ua laptop, and hot to get to it, please let me know. Thank you and I hope this helps!

EToshiba Satellite A100-S8111TD - Laptop do not finish boot on startup

Upon powering on, press the F8 button to load other options, choose safe mode only and hit enter.

If you were able boot windows under safe mode, you can try to do system restore or uninstall any program you've recently installed which cased the problem.

If you were NOT able to boot to safe mode, you need to do full system recovery and re install the OS. Insert the recovery disc and press F12 upon powering on to load boot menu then choose CD/DVD rom.

Hope this helps,
