My phone is Panasonic KX-TG6702. It's a 2-line. I have two handsets.
The Caller ID works on line 1, but on line 2 it only shows the calling party's info for an instant between the first and second ring, then shows "Incoming Call" for the duration of the ringing. I did as you suggested, and called Panasonic help, but the procedure the agent gave me did not fix the problem. Any ideas?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have a problem on a Panasonic two line handset phone that when one line is plugged into a VoIP line, it makes the caller ID not work for the other line. After going back and forth with Verizon, we finally figured this out. I haven't figured a workaround. And in my old house I used to have a VoIP line and a FiOS line and it worked. So either something has changed or the difference between FiOS and regular copper line from Verizon is making the difference. email@example.com
To turn Talking Caller ID on or off You can turn Talking Caller ID on or off for the handset and base unit separately. If this feature is off, the unit will not announce caller names. The factory preset is ON. Handset Talking Caller ID feature 1 Press [MENU]. 2 Scroll to “Talk Caller ID” by pressing [d] or [B], then press Select. 3 Select “Off” or “On” by pressing [d] or [B]. 4 Press Save, then press [OFF].

I have had this phone (twin) for quite a few years . If your incoming line supports caller ID it should work immediately. I never had to activate this. I would check if caller ID on your line is working. Check with another phone if you can.
Hi trinigirl, You should not have to do anything to make the caller id information come through. There is no programming to perform for the regular caller id identification on your display after the second ring (it takes at least one ring cycle for the digital information to pass through). Your model also has the talking caller id function, which will announce in English the callers name or a custom name you can prepare in the phone book of handset number 1. With all that said, you are not getting caller id showing after the second ring, then your phone is bad (which is pretty rare for this symptom), or your phone line still does not have caller id activated. To troubleshoot your problem you need another phone line with working caller id and/or a different phone that is known good to pass caller id. That way you can interchange the phones/lines to see if it is your line or your phone. My guess it is your line somehow, though I have fixed phones that won't pass caller id, but rarely. If it is your phone, try rebooting it, thats about all you can do short of sending it in for repair. Let me know how it goes. CG
