Thank you for your suggestion. I did try it however I have no exclamation marks near any of the drivers and when I still tell it to look it just says that there is no newer drivers. Please any more ideas as it is looking like I will have to take it in to the shop.

OK, the reason ya can only start in Safe Mode is probably because of a "Driver" problem...

What ya need to do now is install the Video, Audio, and Motherboard, Network, etc "Drivers".

Have a look in device manager and see if there are any conflicts etc... ie: any that have a Yellow exclamation mark and if so, use the "Update Driver" and point it to your driver CD.

If ya haven't got a drivers disk then simply go to the HP web site find your type of Lappy and download the Drivers from here, Ya can use Safe mode with Networking hopefully, ya won't don't need the Network Card Driver... lol.. If ya do and still don't have a Driver, use another PC and perhaps copy to a flash drive etc... anyway good luck.

Free recovery disks for hp pavillion zd8000 with windows 7

As far as I know, the original zd8000 operating system is Windows XP. If you have Windows 7 installed, then you need to get Windows 7 disc and its product key. If you need the Windows XP reinstallation media, then you can use HP Windows XP reinstallation disc only (for example: HP Windows XP Professional with SP2 disc).

I dont know how to reformat my pc...

Did you create the recovery discs after buying the Laptop?
h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035677.pdf#page=231

If you have those recovery discs then follow the steps documented in the "Recovering from the Recovery Discs" section in the manual:
h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035677.pdf#page=235

You can also recover from a partition from the hard drive.

I need to find a recovery disk so that I can reformat my laptop. There are just too many problems to deal with one issue at a time. Where can I find or order a recovery disk?

you cannot find recovery disk for your computer any where in internet.... if you need a recovery disc, you need to create one....
in order to format your computer i recommend you to format your computer using the operating system cd that came along with the computer.... if you dont have that cd you can use any of your friends disc....
just entirely format your computer, and re install a fresh copy of operating system....all your OS problems will get solved.... once you are done, you might be required to install the drivers for the devices like audio, card reader, wifi, bluetooth etc...seperately... then after those devices will work....

Hi i have a hp pavilion dv6000 that had repairs done by an amature.the guy told me i needed to download the drivers for this computer since i dont have the recovery disc.is this wat i have to do or...

It depends on what was wrong. Did he reformat the computer? If he did, yes, you should go to HP's website and download them. IMO, he's a bad tech if he didn't do that after a reformat.

Sorry, no command prompts. You'll need either the recovery disc you lost or an operating system disc.

Screen freezes

are you installed the some kind of software before freeze?, i mean, when you use it, you install the another application. if you do, then perhaps that application caused the problem. if not, then the problem is in the hardware driver. freeze problem mostly caused by unstable driver or software. make sure driver or software that you are installed into your operating system is stable or compatible.

Motherboard driver

use this website to download your drivers, (you need to select your model, etc just follow the prompts,

obviously if your networking is out then you need to use a working computer to download all the drivers, stick them on a CD or mem stick and get them onto your lappy that way
