Question about HP Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook
I have a cd/dvd player problem with this computer.
It completly doesn't respond. There is the green light that flashes when the computer starts, but when you press the button it does nothing. The other thing the drive is doing is when the computer starts up, unless the drive is either open or disabled, Windows won't boot. I have gone into the bios to see if it is disconnected but it shows up fine. Windows doesn't recognize the drive, and doesn't even display in the device manager. I have tried changing the driver for this but no luck. I have also rolled back Windows to the last best startup configuration, which displays the driver, but when you try to do something with a cd or dvd, the computer freezes for a moment and the driver disappears.
What are some signs that the drive is shot and needs to be replaced? Can you give me some symptoms? I think the drive is bad. As I stated above, when the driver is disabled the computer is normal.
The problem is with the Port that your connect with the Computer with the cs/dvd drive it is damaged or malfunction you have to either check your mainboard it has the problem , for that pls confir the same cd/dvd drive in another computer if it works fine , then it your main board Ok.
