If the IC is running hot, you probably have some bad caps in the circuit. Be sure to have a good capacitor checker that also tests for ESR. Also recheck your soldering work with a magnifying glass. The traces are so fine that it is easy to damage them.

Why I have a thin line across the screen in my TV model Panasonic TC 21. After replacing the vertical IC the horizontal line across the screen reduced to few inches and not as it was earlier. vertica

First, You should to replace by original part, then you should check the voltages on power supply, and check the voltage for vertical IC based on datasheet, also check the voltages on vertical section including yoke and last you should check the ESR capacitors on vertical section.

Hi, I have a Tedelex EC29187 Television it have only a horizontal line in the middle of the screen, I opened it and looked for physical damage around the vertical defflection IC, but it show nothing so...

Ur tv it is taken aparts wright now?Yes.Plug in ur tv to see the problems and take the hard end handle of the screw driver and taps around the vertical deflection ic for cold soldering joints, will require resoldering the ic,if the vertical hold flickers or bounced back to normal. No bounce back vertical hold check all the sorrouding capacitors transistors resistors for dead components parts to be replaced,if all the sorrouding parts are good, than that vertical deflection ic it self it is dead and require replacing.

Our tv, a Panasonic # CT-36D11E/CT-36D11 only shows a horizontal thin line across the screen. The sound is fine - any ideas? Is it time to replace or could it be repaired cheaply?

Resolder the vertical IC and replace those capacitors near and next to your vertical IC. If the horizontal line still appears, you may have to replace the IC. Thanks for asking and be caredful!

I have a panasonic tv with retrace lines at the topI

If you can locate the vertical IC you are nearby!. You will have to resoder the grounds on the vertical IC and any cap in the immediate area of this vertical IC is weak. I would replace them all as they will pull each other down. There may be four caps and the largest one, possibly a 25 volt 2200MF would be the only good cap. I dont have the specs on this set, but this will surely lead to a good repair!

No video but sound works. white line across center

easy way is 4 wires will come from yoke coil(around pic/tube) green &yellow wires commonly used for verical deflection ..will be connected to soket. trace tracks from that connector points..on bootomside of pcboard..that tracks will lead you to vertical ic..commonly standing type ic..replace ic..check supply25v for the ic will come from l,o,transformer via a resister..good luck...

I only have a Horizonal bow tie looking line for a pictuce

Do you have a thin line in the middle of the screen running left to right and no picture above or below?

If so read below

This is an easy repair if you've ever soldered or it would not be too costly for a repair shop to do it for you. The problem is a bad Vertical Output IC (usually mounted on an aluminum heat sink with the part on it labeled LA78?? ) and 1 or 2 bad capacitors. Some times you can even fix the problem by re-soldering the contacts of the IC- To find the IC follow the 4 wires that come from the Yoke (which is a contained coil of wires slipped over the neck of the picture tube(s)) back to the board. 2 of the wires go to the horizontal o/p and 2 to the Vertical o/p the thinner gauge wires are for the vertical.let me know if this helped. -VOTE

Picture shrinks horizontally every few seconds.

You are changing parts in the wrong circuit. The problem is in the vertical circuit. Look for the vertical IC and resolder the pins first. It should be an LA7837 or something similar. Also, check the 100ufd and 47ufd caps in the same circuit.

Keep us posted.

TV picture aspect ratio

No. Aspect Ratio is same for UAE and India, and also the broadcast System.

Most Cable TV operators in India broadcast the signal 'slightly oversized, and so the viewer gets the Scrolling at the bottom and top of the screen cut-off.
