The monitor does not care what operating sytem the PC is running on, but it does care that the video signal from the PC does not exceed its maximum resolution. You should set the PC resolution to be the native resolution of the monitor with refreshing rate set to 60Hz.

I have a Mag Innovision 2200W Monitor. I messed with the settings, and now I get a ''mode not supported'' error. The computer is running in the background, and works with other monitors, but not this one....

Hi

To resolve this issue connect a monitor which is working with the Computer. Now right click on desktop and select properties(if windows XP) or personalize/screen resolution (if windows vista / 7)-> Now click on settings tab (windows XP) or change the resolution of your monitor-> Choose a lower resolution rate maybe 800X600. Now try connecting the other monitor with your Computer and it will work.

If not then check for the refresh rate of your monitor, adjust it to 60 Hz. You can adjust refresh rate from settings tab->advanced button(in XP). Screen resolution/Display settings(under windows 7/vista)->Advanced setting->monitor tab ->refresh rate.

This will surely resolve your issue.

Hi, Bought a formac mini disc , ( no external power source ) picks up power via eBay port ( green light on formac mini disc shows lit ) Refuses to register on my computer. Help, thanks, Peter

Peter, on the premise this is new to you and you didn't buy it with stuff you want to keep ...

It may not be mounting/showing up because it's not formatted -- the computer may be seeing it, but it's not capable of reading it, or there's a problem.

This runs off USB, not eBay, ports -- and, as you say, does not need an external power supply.

If you're on Windows XP or Windows Vista, you'll typically want to reformat to "NTFS" ... the default specifications, if you're given an option, will work fine.

Windows XP Pro. driver for the acer LCD Monitor X193W

Hi,

To my knowledge, it is compatible and certainly would work with XP. Since this monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs make is compatible for most video cards or even a built-in video of the PC. If for some reason the Acer X193W would not work with your Windows XP PC, possible reasons are:
  • Screen Resolution and/or Screen refresh Rate of the PC's Display Properties too high, try lowering them down;
  • hardware fault either on the monitor or video card;
  • incorrect/missing drivers of the video card;
  • it is being hooked as a secondary monitor and the dual/twin view is not activated.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

External hard drve

Hello,

First I would verify that USB ports are functioning properly by plugging another device into the port and verifying that it works. If it does, then you can try restarting the computer - as sometimes the computer will detect an external drive on startup. You should also make sure that the software provided by the manufacture is correctly installed.

The HP monitor stop working with systemax windows xp

no vga input message means that the monitor is working fine, and the problem is probably your pc. check the cable connecting the monitor to the pc. if that is ok, you ma have to open up the pc and check some components, most likely the RAM

Soundsticks switch from Apple to PC...

No drivers needed for them to work in XP, this I know for sure. Any other operating system, I can't say with any certainty. But I would assume they would work ok in Vista as well.

When plugged into a Windows XP system, they show up in the device manager as "Harman Kardon SoundSticks" without any additional software or drivers. Hope this helps.
