Dv9000 im having a problem with my screen when i go to turn it on the quick buttons light up but it doesnt boots up and the screen doesnt come on...what could be the problem

I had the same problem. I could not fix it at home, so I sent it to HP for repair. It was still under warranty, so I didn't have to pay for anything.

My issue was the motherboard was faulty. I noticed that the laptop actually works better than when I first got it in May 2007, meaning that the problem ws probably there all along, I just didn't know it.

Call them up, they will send you a box and you can ship it back. HP is aware of the problem adn they have extended the warranty on the dv9000 laptops for 24 months. It took 9 days for me to get it back. They retained all my data on my hard drives.

Try to remove the battery, hold on power button for about 50-60seconds, then plug-in the charger and turn the laptop ON, see what happens.

None of my quick touch buttons work. HP Pavillion dv9000
My thoughts is that you may have had a Microsoft update to which has knocked out your drivers for these features. You may have to go back to HP's Web site and re-load the drivers for these two features.

I have a DV9000 whos screen goes black immed after power up
try to press F8 continuously before the microsoft image until you get different options. select "Safe Mode" on the options using your UP or DOWN cursor keys then hit ENTER. if it works and boots up then you can use the windows operating system disc to repair it. if it still does the same thing then you might need to reformat and reinstall the windows vista operating system...

I dropped my dv9000 lap top and it do not turn on what could be the problem
first you could have screwed up the hard drive or knocked a memory module loose check those and see open up the little covers on the bottem of it and remove the hard drive and try and boot, if it works then you need a new hard drive and o.s. if not put that back in and move on to the memory modules open the panel up and check to see that they're seated properly and then remove them and try and boot if it works then you need some new memory

Power
When i try to turn it on the power button flashes a code. The power button lights up once for a second, then turns off, then flashes quickly nine times and lights up once again for a second before turning off. The screen doesnt turn on at all, nor do the speakers. Any help would be highly appreciated.

hey, so ir dv9000 doesnt boot to hp logo screen & restart itself,first replace the cmos battery if thisdoesnt solves ur problem, the next time u boot check whether the rj45 & the dial up port give a led flash on start or not ,if not then u may have hape board ,cpu or power problem ....which can be fixed by repair only.
