My close captioning works fine on all channels, DVD's, everything, EXCEPT on USA it is so bad it cannot be deciphered. Is there something special about USA close captioning? Is there anything I can do, I watch USA so much.

Good question. Set your channel on the hallmark channel. Then go to your menu to the control that turns captioning on. Turn it off, then turn it on to see if it works. If this doesn't work try to reset the entire unit. Unplug the unit, wait 2 minutes. Turn it on , go through the procedure to find channels, turn the caption control to on and see what happens. If that doesn't work I'd ask your tv service provider of contact customer service at the number listed in your users manual. Good luck. Closed captioning is required by law under the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act. Its gotta be there some where or they can't get a license to operate a station.
The Subtitle option is available only with the connected devices like DVD Player, Blu-ray Disc Player etc. The option avaialble in the TV is known as Closed Caption. The Closed caption option can be turned off by selecting the options below:
Press Menu button on the TV Remote.
Select, Setup settings.
Then select Caption Vision option to OFF.
This option is for turning off the Closed Caption option in the TV to OFF. For disabling the Subtitle option in the connected devices like DVD Player and Blu-ray Disc Player, press the SUBTITLE button on the supplied Remote continuously to select OFF.
In few of the TV broadcasting channels the Subtitles cannot be turned OFF as this is being broadcasted with the channels.
okay i so happy i got the solution from another web page this what you do its the closed caption button on the remote or tv go to close caption and keep hit close caption until you see off that's it so simple
your TV do not disable close caption in composite mode. It may in component mode. Please make sure that the close caption in your TV menu is not set to "text" Please be advice that CC :Text is the ONLY one that can give you a black box.
closed caption depends on your tv stations. If a tv station does not support providng closed captions, then it will not really show closed captions. Closed captions depends really on the feature of a tv station
