The motor works when plugged in,but the drum dose not spin,is it the fan belt?.

id suggest the belt may be broken or loose, have you tried with no clothes in it? a lighter load might relieve stress on a loose belt and allow the drum to spin. since heat and fan works, i would not suspect motor failure, as safety mechanisms should not allow heat while the drum isnt spinning.
could be a broken mount or bracket between motor and drum as well

You broughtke the belt of drum wont turn you might take the dryer apart to make sure the idler pulley is spinning free also. They sometimes get tight and burn the belt up.

My guess is the drive belt for the drum is bad, and Drum is draging so the motor with connected fan is not turning fast enough to push the exhust air out the vent.

Hi How old is it , ? and dose it soun like the motor is running but not turnning the drum ? this would be a bad belt , you will need to do some more investagating for me to help you

broken belt on drum drive motor? bad motor on drum? bad connection on motor? if you remove the oval panel on the back you can see the motor, belt and drum assembly

sounds like the belt or motor, need to take it apart, the belt should be in the middle of drum if it is then more the likely it is the motor, you can disconnect belt pug dryer in and see if the motor spins, there may be a reset on the motor, if so it is located where the wire come in. The drum not spinning is either a broken belt or a faulty drum motor.

with belt off see if motor free spins .the blower wheel should not free spin with the belt on and entire drum will turn with it otherwise you could have a bad motor and a blower wheel

Hi, i have a wma40s had it for 7 ears now same thing happended would start a cycle but then stop halfway through make the noise but the drum would not spin etc. i bought some carbon brushes of ebay for 7 quid and it works better than its worked in years bit nosiey for first few washes but after it settles it is as good as new.
