Fuzzy dvd pictures

I have a kdl40w2000 tv and a sony hdd recorder (model RDRHXD870) and i use an HDMI cable to connect them both. some discs that i play, the picture qulaity is brilliant but some discs like football and only fools and horses, the picture quality is rubbish. the football is really annoying as there is a type of fuzziness around the players and it's just not clear. i'm sure there's a simple solution to this.....PLEASE HELP!!!!

How do i program my sony dvd player dvp.sr200p to work on my philips tv

No special programming is required. Connect the DVD player to the TV using an HDMI cable. Note which input jack you used on the TV (example: HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, etc.) Turn on the DVD player and insert a DVD disc and play it. Turn on the TV and select the input you used to connect the DVD player (example: HDMI 1 or HDMI 2, etc.). You should now see and hear the DVD disc playing. Most settings are pre-set at the factory so everything will work without adjustment. However, both the DVD player and the TV have a Menu where you can adjust settings for picture, sound, etc. if desired.

DVR620KU From the HDMI connector, how to get non-pinched vertical HDMI images on the TV monitor and on the DVD. Recorded DVD's have been Finalized

Using a DVD-RW disk, try ALL different recording settings even if they don't seem probable and record a sample. If output is correct with all BUT the HDMI-cable, go through ALL picture format settings on the TV when a HDMI-cable is used. Different discs and HDMI cables don't have anything to do with this. I'm still chewing on this...

You have probably found out now that you would need to get your digital reception by connecting a set top box to the LG, say to AV1, then select AV1 when making a recording.

DVD hooked up to sony bravia tv: have dvd power on, but can not get any set up menus (or anything) from dvd to show on tv screen.Unable to set up remote as menu does not appear on tv screen.

Hook up the player with RGB (Red-Green-Blue or component) cables and try the picture. If everything works OK, then go to the menu and turn on the HDMI output and set the resolution (if needed).
Not every HDMI unit works with every HDMI TV. You may also have a bad HDMI cable. On a DVD recorder, you may have your HDMI cable connected to HDMI IN. You must use HDMI out.

Use an HDMI cable from my LG DVB-T HDD/DVD recorder

A quick google search of that model number turns up that tv doesn't have an HDMI port. Your next option would just use component cables instead. At 26 inches you will never notice the difference.

Sony connectivity

OK, here are info...
first unplug TV and dvd recorder from AC outlet and put hdmi cable as follows...
at rear side of TV, you have 2 hdmi inputs, hook hdmi cable in any one of them and other end of hdmi cable will be hooked in hdmi out of dvd recorder rear side.
Now, plug both units in AC outlet and power up, go to TV menu > hdmi setup > and perform device list update.
TV will recognize dvd recorder and you will see dvd recorder logo screen.

Let me know if you need further info / help.

Fuzzy Picture

Are you using the component (RGB) outputs, and a Sony TV? I believe that there is something in the output of at least some Panny DVD recorders (over the RGB component path), which Sony TVs don't process properly.
