Question about Maytag MER6772 Gemini Electric Kitchen Range

Small oven both elements come of when bakes cycle is used. have alot of burnt bake goods when trying to bake

The lower element burned in my oven. I replaced the element, but the oven will not work.


unplug range ..remove the back cover plate check all wires all connections ..their must be a burnt /broken /dissconnected wire ..check where the wires connect to the bake an broil element ..and the bake broil switch..if all looks good .then the bake broil switch burnt out when element blew out..plus is the breaker tripped in the box ..it prob. tripped when the element blew out..let me know..good luck

My stove self cleaning light keep blinking and it will not bake. I have tried unpluging it from the wall.


check the bake element it most likley burnt out ..unplug range ..remove oven racks ..look at element with flash light to see if it broken burnt..if it is ..remove the 2 screws at the hing ..pull element out ..remove wires ..you will need model#an serial # to purchase call local appliance store for element ..or the local used appliance repair shop may have one cheap..let me know ..good luck/joe/

When set to bake oven does not preheat and tempature does not increase. when set to broil oven heats


Since your oven has a separate element for bake and broil I would bet the bake element is burnt out or burnt electrical connection to the element. Make sure you disconnect all power to the range before checking.

Hi ,I have model jgs8850ads,it takes along time to preheat,about 40 min. what could this be? please respond.


is this a duel fuel with an electric oven..... the bake is the bottom and the broil is the top both cycle on and off to preheat the oven.... if ur lower bake element is burnt out then u woould expereicnce the problem u stated..... if u have a gas oven then ur ignitor or glow bar is probably burnt out....... either way it sounds like your bake element or bake ignitor has failed

I have found some stuff for you to read and hope this will help you get you in the right direction.let me know how this goes.
It won't bake Usually, when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it. It bakes poorly Here are two instances of when food "bakes poorly:" When the food you're baking is done on top but not on the bottom--or when baking just takes far too long to finish--the bake element may be burned out. You may get fooled into thinking it's working, because the oven is hot inside. But many electric ovens use the broil element, too, during the preheat and bake cycles. So the food may be getting heated only by the broil element, which causes poor baking results. If the bake element is burned out, replacing it should solve the problem. Otherwise, you need to further troubleshoot the oven's electrical system to locate the defective wire or component. When the temperature is consistent but too high or too low, it could be one of several different things. First check to see if the thermostat sensing bulb has come loose from its holder. It could be lying on the floor of the oven or resting on the heating element. This would cause the oven to not heat correctly. If the thermostat bulb is not dislodged, it's likely that the thermostat or sensor is either mis-calibrated or defective. Electronic ovens with a digital display use a sensor to monitor oven temperature. To solve temperature problems for these models, you may need to replace the sensor. On some digital-display models, you can calibrate the temperature using the key pad. See your operator's manual for details. Ovens without a digital display often use a mechanical system for controlling temperature. I was baking and I saw a flash of ligth and then the element in the oven stopped producing heat,


Hi

Please see if the baking element is burnt. Also check for the fuse and try to check the internal wiring between the baking element and the main control board. The spark may be due to burning of baking element or due to over voltage.

After temp is set bottom oven will not heat up to desired temp


you probably have a burnt out or shorted out lower bake element in you r lower oven. it sometimes will actually break apart or look like it sparked thru the black tubular section. it is common and will cause no heat during the bake cycle.
you could try to do a broil and see if it gets hot and that would let you know the control is ok and just needs the lower bake element.

On bake mode it justs gets luke warm. broil mode it works fine

    Bottom Baking element not working

    If all your connections are solid then your controller is defective. Did you get any faults before changing the element? Does the broil (one at the top of the oven) work?
