Check this link for user manual if you need it
to heard trunking you should check if your scanner can handle this communications protocols.
to set frequencies, you should know wich band are they working, VHF, UHF, or 800, to start scanning.
Even they are in trunking, you will heard trunking channels but maybe just one side of the communications

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

Listen i ned help bcs i cant pickup no other frequies butwhere i live

What do you mean "Where I live" It is a receiver. It can only get channels that are broadcast within range. Only internet apps can get areas that are not where you live because they use the internet to move the signals to where you live, or you can also use high powered ham radios.

I want to dump the old programs and reprogram new freqs. for the uniden bc72xlt

Your can RESET your scanner to erase all data that you've programmed into it and return it to its original factory settings. To do this:
1. Power the scanner OFF.
2. While holding in the 2, 9, and HOLD keys, power the scanner ON. The process takes about 3 seconds, and the word CLEAr will display.

For single channels, you can program "000.0000" into any one of them to clear its programmed data, or just program a new frequency into the channel. The new data will override the old information.

Need the factory operating manual for your scanner? You can download and print it, free of charge, here:

I have a Uniden BC72XL scanner and cats knocked it

In your manual, if you have one, if not look it up on the internet. There are ways with all these types of communications, to reset to manufacturer and factory settings at time of new purchase. Then proceed forward in programming.

Batteries run down in a little over half a day in my new uniden BC72XLT scanner, is it batteries, charger or scanner?

its most likely the scanner. i had one that used up batteries pretty quick. my advice would be to get rechargeables, and get 2 sets of batteries so when one set runs down you can put the fresh set in the scanner

The BC72XLT is a USA model scanner, while the UBC73XLT is produced for Australia and New Zealand. The two are very similar, but not identical. There is a slight difference in frequency coverage (it's a bit wider on the UBC), the BC comes with a 110-volt AC power supply (wall-wart) for USA use, while the UBC comes with a 12-volt DC vehicle power supply.

FYI, here are links to the operating manuals for both models:
