Motorola v710 cell phone

I have a 3 month old motorola v710 phone that won't hold a batttery charge.
I have lowered many settigs and use the battery saver option. I just purchased a new battery, charged it for 24 hours, let it set overnight with the power turned off and the battery was low the next morning. The phone works fine it just runs down the battery after a full charge within 10 to 12 hours even when it is off. My email is [email protected].

Yes it is lithium ion and I will keep charging and draining and see if it helps the battery.

i think these v170 lithium batteries were probably made in the stone age and that is why they are just no good anymore. i am going to get another phone. (
I bought new batteries AND a new phone and still had the exact same problem)

Is the battery lithium -ion? If not, you have an older generation of battery.

Having mentioned that, some batteries need an introductory "conditioning period". Continue your excercise of charging and draining (dont drain too too low) and hopefully you will start seeing some decent longer lasting charges.

Hope that helps!

How many hours did the batttery works can u please tell us

If the cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

I have a Motorola V710, it will not power on but the screen blinks when plugged in to charge, what's wrong?

The batery may not be holding a charge anymore, try removing the battery and clean the contact's, if that do'es not work the battery may need to be replaced.

Doesn't turn on!!

you need to try and get into the boot loader to see if you can flex/flash it from there. a new flex should solve the problem, unless there is physical or water damage to it. It could also be a defective battery. Are you positive the battery works? Did you do any kind of upgrade on the phone? played with it's firmware? On flashing - http://wiki.howardforums.com/motorola/index.php/How_to_flash_with_RSD_lite Flexing is done the same way Good luck
