Hi, great site by the way.
I have never gotten this printer, my Epson Aculaser C1100, to print correctly in regards to double sided material. If I have a cross dividing an A4 page in to 4 equal sections and I print it on both sides of once page the lines NEVER align correctly on both sides.
If I print on one side of the page and measure with a ruler, the margins are not the same at the top of the page as to the bottom of the page. Very frustrating, looks so poor when you are trying to print a nice poster or flyers.
I have tried countless hours to see if it is paper placement or jamming, but I cannot see how this occurs.
Can you help?
The paper tracking on the epson is not perfect. You may also notice that the paper can skew off / twist as it goes through, especially if printing on the rear side. Try printing a box aligned with all margins and you'll notice that it doesn't align with the paper edges.
Solutions:
a) The specific issue that you speak about can be compensated for in the "extended" settings on the prinproperties. You can "Offset the print" by a mm or so to adjust slight inconsistencies and get, for example two text frames to print back to back, lined up.
b) When printing the reverse side of paper, use in the general properties tab, paper type, "plain (back)". The printer then seems to compensate a bit for the fact that the now heated and curled paper needs to move through the mechanism.
Your application will actually override the settings of the printer, what i can suggest is for you to check if you are using the correct page length and margin setting in your software program.
Try using Laserjet 3 emulation driver as well

Hi I have a DFX8000 epson printer connected to a COM port SCO Unix 5.0.7 server initially it used to work ok, but currently it is not alligning the print job as it used to. What could have caused this problem?. If I use DFX9000 on the same connection it is printing perfectly.
