www.electro-tech-online.com/.../36401d1261034747-rca-32-television-32v434t-need-help-repairing-atc010_training_manual-1-.pdfAbove and below aew training manuals, these show you how they work, and how to isolate issues.www.scribd.com/.../RCA-Chassis-CTC203-TV-Trainning-Manual It sounds like your "Mixer" has faulted, however what has "Caused" that, may be one of many things. This unit must have troubleshooting procedures to isolate the issue. it is my professional opinion though that everyone should take their units to their manufacturers, RCA in your case, approved service center, contacting a local or head office, of your unit & getting an approved service center is just SO important, even worth the extra to ship it, you see, at those places, the Engineers, are trained on the equipment you have, they usually have parts on hand, and do the job quicker. Anyway do that and get a "Quote". This way, at least, you'll know weather to repair or replace

The burning smell and high pitched noise is coming either from Flyback transformer or PSU board. Repair is a delicate matter and must be done by a technician.
