Question about HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have trouble installing a printer, An HP L7780
Ive spent over 10 hrs with tech support and they gave up
the software wont install successfully. It will on an older computer at home but not at my office where i need it

fredrobrien: JHP network devices support could not be started weither. Same message

I also had problem getting a complete install of the software. It is installed now though. I talked to the tech guys and and made it plain that i did not plug in the USB right off the bat. They had me 1st uninstall ALL of the old HP printer and scanner products. Then I had to empty all of the stuff in the temp files that I could. Then we looked at the fact that I was using Internet Explorer 8, which I had to remove. Removing that proved to be only half done though until the pc just happened to do an automatic update when I was taking a well deserved break after 8 hours of working on the issue. Problem solved though......the software is installed completely. bjmoore

I spent 24 hours with tech support for this same printer. The printer will not set up by the book, the level 2 techs have tech bulletin that they will give you the proper set up and installation process. The problem is convincing the lower level techs that there is a tech bulletin out there.

Very easy..... first do not connect ur printer to ur pc..install driver until installation complete...than restart ur pc than connect ur printer...will thank on this... hahaha

Can't you just uninstall all hp software. Eventually do a system restore to a date before you installed drivers. And then installing back your software.
If this does not work you may need to reinstall windows.
At least this is what I would do in my shop.
If it does not work, it means there is an additional problem apart software setup unsuccessful (eg. bad usb cable etc.)
Ah yes, before doing all this do an hard reset (disconnect power cable 20 mins), usb suffer problems from electrostatic charges.
