Broken tray Panasonic SA-HT820V

Neighbor's kid broke tray, now DVD player doesn't work along with the rest of the unit. Took the entire DVD housing out. Includes the plastic housing, a white plastic top, the five trays, all the plastic gears, and two circuit boards underneath. What is the part # for this so I can order a new one?

Same Problem

Mar 10, 2008

-   my problem with the Panasonic SA-HT82OV was similar, but the problem started when I tried to open the tray it just said wait, I called the tech support and they suggested resetting the unit by holding the open/close rew and play buttons (on the VCR side) for 3 seconds and then the screen did nothing, then I reset the channel controls for the VCR and now I can't switch it back to the DVD side, (to see if it will respond specifically when input is in DVD) Any advise or should I pay for an estimate? thanks-   k750919

The mechanism gears are probably out of timing. If you are mechanically inclined, you can fix it. You need to find the service manual and in it there are about 10 pages of step by step directions on how to take it apart and align all the gears. it take some effort but it is much cheaper than buying the whole tray mechanism and I doubt that any parts are broken.

You should note that u will not be able to order that particular alone, rather you can only get the entire mechanism.

Thanks........!!!!!!!!
