I suspect that the DE-528 (discontinued card by the way) is only a 10 mbps card. Unless you are doing some heavy duty video the card would be fine. Otherwise replace it with a 100 mbps card.

Dear Sorianom79:

Try to check the antenna of your internet and try to refresh your computer to connect to internet. The text you are saying is what you call the HTML because you have a slow connection of your internet. The speed should be 100mbps .

My net speed get very slow

If you are talking about about your speed while connected to the wireless, I do believe this is a 801.11b, which means it is a slower router (for wireless) and only goes up to 11Mbps. If you think you are getting even slower speed than that, log in to it, go to the wireless setting tab and find the setting for the connection speed. make sure its set to use the full 11Mbps! (sometimes is can be set to only 1-3 or 3-5Mbps).
If you are talking about the speed while connected via hard wire (eithernet cable), log in to your router and make sure that the wired speed is set to the highest value (I believe this one goes to 100Mbps full-duplex) and also make sure that the cable you are using is at least a CAT5 or above (CAT5. CAT5E, CAT6). A CAT3 ethernet cable will not go up to the 100mpbs! (this is printed on the wire).. also make sure that the port on your computer also goes up to 100mbps!

hope this helps!

When i connected 2 computers on this device my internet speed is very slow.

Hub works on single Broadcast and single collision domain which means the the effective bandwidth will be shared if more than one PC is connected.

In your case I will suggest to go for a new 10/100Mbps switch instead of Hub

I connected a 100/10 switch behind the router. The link led (uplink) flickers and data transfert through switch in drastically reduced (by factor 150) Can I connect a switch behind the Dsl rputer ?

Hi,

1. Connect one end of your Ethernet cable to one of Four 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN Ports.

2. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable into one of the ports in the switch (try not to use the uplink port if it slows-down the connection)

Thanks

Reset speed from 10Mbps on 100Mbps (D-Link DE-1824i)

Tony,  I was looking at the specs and found these lines :- Choices of 12 and 24 10BASE-T ports per hub
1 100BASE-TX port (for connection to 100BASE-TX hubs) Which is saying that the user/pc ports are fixed 10Mps and there is one 100Mbps uplink port to connect two hubs together.

Slow connection w/ FiOS

You may not be interpreting the LED correctly. The Link LED goes on to indicate a physical connection (if the Link LED is out, the cable is damaged or disconnected), but the 10/100 LED only illuminates when there’s a 100Mbps connection. The LED will remain off when the connection is only 10Mbps. Here’s how to quickly determine the speed of your connection. If the 10/100LED is off, there’s a slow connection. If the LED is on, there’s a fast connection.

A fast (100Mbps) network connection requires that both ends of the connection support 100Mbps communication. So, if the 10/100 LED on your hub is dark, chances are that your PC’s network adapter (or NIC [network interface card]) is only operating in the 10Mbps mode. Check the NIC in your Device Manager Network Adapter entry and look for any 10/100 designation. An older 10Mbps NIC may need to be upgraded for 100Mbps operation. If it’s a 10/100 NIC, refer to the PC’s documentation and check the NIC settings to make sure it’s not locked in the 10Mbps mode. Set the NIC to a mixed or 10/100 mode so that it can adapt automatically to establish the best possible connection.
