In case you have not noticed mercury is no longer in the game of these older sound drivers because they know you can use other drivers created by & downloaded by people with older boards.

The newer drivers work just as good on 99% of mother board because they were make by Realtek & are continually used by

Intel, VIA & other chipsets Mfg's. Realtek has been in the computer sound for years, back to the Win98 days. Try the install before you judge. This part is for free. If you do not like it, well there is nothing anyone can do for you. If you need sound that bad & refuse to use Realteks driver software than go buy a pci sound card.

No sound in my PC

  1. Go to Start > Programs > Windows Update (or Microsoft Update)
  2. Run an update scan with that and it might find sound card drivers under the Hardware section
  3. You need to install those

Installing sound drivers

First, visit this website:

http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/gc/gc_drive.htm

Next up select Windows XP Professional as your operating system. Now click, "Drivers." The first result should be the Realtek drivers, which are what you're searching for. Download them. Once they finished downloading open the file and the drivers should be installed automatically.

If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know. If this solution solved your problem, please rate the solution.
