    Hi,

    Just went and tried a re-set still to no avail. When I push scource I get tuner and standby, also I'm not sure if it's lighting up correctly. The tuner works perfectly and it is storing the pre-sets, it's as if it can't see the cd as it wont let me put one in ?

Hi,

The normal source selections for this model when the SRC button is pressed are: TUNER, CD and STANDBY.

If there is no CD inside the tray, or if it is dirty, unreadable, inverted or damaged, then the CD source option will not display at all.

If the there is a known good CD placed properly inside the tray and the CD source will still not show as a source selection, you may need to RESET the unit. The reset button is near mid bottom. This will also erase all settings, memory and tuner presets.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

    Hi again,

    I am assuming then that there is a known good CD inside the unit and yet no selectable CD as SRC (source).

    Then the issue may be with the CD reader internally. The only easy check (and hopefully repair) is to use a CD cleaner readily available from most computer shops. This looks like any other CD except it has a small brush like protrusion that is intended to clean the laser reader eye/lens.

    If still a no go, am afraid that the unit needs to be pulled out and opened for diagnosis of the CD mechanism and circuitry. This would require that you be familiar with electronics and components, possibly the use of a DVM and a soldering iron. Should you not be comfortable doing a DIY, perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

    The CD power circuitry is integral to the whole unit, one power for all. A couple of possibilities:
    a) there is already a CD stuck inside, you would need a tweezer or something to pull it out other than disassembly;
    b) CD loading mechanism/motor defective, stuck, blocked, it would need to be rebuild;
    c) your 2nd post "...not sure if it's lighting up correctly..." indicates possibility of internal problem perhaps in the power distribution, voltage regulator. Back to the last paragraph of my second post.

Press the SRC button to turn unit on. The SRC button allows you to navigate between input sources,i.e. tuner, cd, aux, etc. Press and hold SRC button for second to turn unit off ( it will display standby).

My Aux-in wont work

did you turned aux function?

turn off your player by pressing and holding volume controler.
press and hold longer (~5 sec) it again to turn it on (you should see 'tuner' in the lcd).
push up arrow to select aux and right/left to turn it on.

now you can connect your ipod and select aux (as ussual switching between tuner/cd player/aux)

cheers :)

Using the auxillary setting

You'll need to turn the auxiliary function on in the setup menu. Press Source to put the unit in Standby, then press and hold the Menu button for at least 1 second. Press the control switch toward AM or FM until the AUX setting comes up, then press the control switch toward <<< or >>> to change the setting to ON.
