To use video call with Skype you need to purchase an USB WEBcam, connect the WEBcam into the Compaq laptop's USB port and install the WEBcam driver that came with the WEBcam. Then configure Skype - select the WEBcam and mic.

Click on particular contact then you can see two option for
communication- One is Video and Another is call(Green Buttons)
open skype go to tools options scroll to video settings or control panel sounds and audio devices hardware make necessary adjustments there

CONFIGURE TO SKYPE Connect webcam Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start (To reboot the webcam software) - if you have been using it elsewhere the SKYPE software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly. The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted. Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software. If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

You need to configure Skype with the model WEBcam and mic. Sometimes the WEBcam settings drop off and the WEBcam need to be selected again. Open Skype - Tools - Options - Video Settings and select the WEBcam. Also check the Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save. Avoid connecting the WEBcam to an USB hub.

All OK - Configure to Skype Open Skype > Options > Audio Settings - set your equipment defaults > Save > Make a test call. Navigate to Video settings ( Options > video settings ) set your preferences and trim picture quality using settings > Save Make a test call
You can only use the webcam with one device at a time? If you are sure the webcam is working properly shut down the software specifically for your webcam.
