The red button in in keyboard is your "trackpoint" mouse cursor, it moves the cursor around the screen

If you are referring to red button located near the letters G, B, and H on the keyboard, this is called a TrackPoint. It's purpose is to act as a mouse that you control with your finger. The buttons located below it, with red on them are the equivalent to the Left Click and Right Click buttons on a standard PC mouse. I don't know how to use the lap top IBM T41 which I was given and there is no user manual to help me. I would like to accquire one if possible.
You can find the user manual on following link, if you know the type of machine you can be get more precise information about your laptop. The type of machine will be seen on a sticker label on back of the machine!

I purchased a emerson 6113bk and I need the manual for it

As far as I know, Emerson product model numbers do not begin with numbers - they begin with letters. (But, I've been wrong before.) If it is a phone you're asking about, the model number may be EM6113. The bk prefix usually means that is is black. (Maybe).
