Drivers-clueless! when i insert my ricoh memory stick into my laptop it constantly says no driver software available.same goes for my camcorder and mobile.i repeatedly update my laptop via windows live update but still have no joy. please advice as it is driving me insane
Go to the web site of your computer. Say maybe HP and type in your product and download the driver. If it's a external driver go to their website. or just check if there are driver updates.

You need to use a computer that has Internet access so you can download the driver then copy the driver to an USB memory stick and then insert this memory stick into your laptop to install the LAN driver. You can download the LAN driver from the laptop manufacturer's WEB site. I cannot give you the link to the laptop manufacturer's WEB site because you did not provide details of the make and model of your laptop.
regarding with the issue that you are having with your sony vaio card reader here are some things you can do
- try to perform a system restore and try to restore the computer to a date that the computer is working fine
- try to reinstall the driver for the memory stick pro card reader
- the website for the driver is www.esupport.sony.com
- as far as i understand your issue you are using the card reader port for the memory stick pro
First, check to make sure you have (installed) a (device) driver (on your laptop/PC), for your laptop to recognize the camcorder when connected with a USB cable.
When you first connect the camcorder to the laptop, the laptop should see a "new" device and attempt to install the driver (on your laptop). If your laptop doesn't locate the driver on your (laptop's) disk, you will need to insert the software CD that came with the camcorder - that's where the driver is provided.
Sounds like you need to update your drivers for the memory stick. Go to the device manager in the control panel you should be able to locate the software and drivers for your device. Check to see if any upgrades are available. This should help.
I had the same issue with my 4GB Sony Memory Card when I put it in my memory card slot on my computer. I have a Toshiba laptop, so what I did that fixed the problem is I went to Toshibas Support Webpage in the downloads section and under the CATEGORY: Driver Card Reader and re-downloaded:
Ricoh Card Reader for Windows 7 (32/64)(v3.54.02; 09-04-2009; 4.94M) and once I did that it read my memory card and didn't give me any more issues and it opened all my pictures. Of course if you don't have a Toshiba then you would go to your manufacturers web site and see if they have the same thing, because that is what fixed my issue and it didn't take long at all.
hey i have the same problem with the hp pavillion 6000. It is one of the most unreliable computers in the world but i guess thats another discussion... I have a 2g memory card that will only be recognized if i restart the computer and put it in then... Once you eject it though it wont recognize it. HP needs to get their **** together and stop ripping people off.
