Jane Matrix Cup car seat

Hi there, I've just purchased the Matrix Cup car seat and am having real difficulty understanding the car installation instructions - my baby is due in two weeks and I was hoping to test out the seat before that so I know what I'm doing.
Is there a video installation guide online or might you know where I might look for clearer instructions?
Many thanks and look forward to hearing from you! Roisin

finding it quite difficult to attach seat to car tightly and also adjusting the five point seat belt for baby...any others with same experience or solution to it?

  • angsmith Apr 22, 2009

we also are having trouble adjusting the 5 point harness for our 2 week old baby, don' understand how he is going to fit in it within a month due to the unmoveability of the groin strap, and also the fact that the shoulder staps don't really adjust enough. I don't see how he will be able to use the matrix cup in the lie flat position for very long before his legs HAVE to hang over the end of the seat. Any advice or details on 'fitting a baby in it' as opposed to 'fitting the seat into the car' much appreciated!

The best instructions I have found (as I have the same car seat!) were on YouTube. These instructions are really clear as they are in video format and they show you how to fit the seat in both the lie fat and rear facing mode.
In terms of the harness, you may or may not be aware that there a number of adjustments that can be made. The first is that you are able to adjust the positioning of the straps within the seat so that the child is not overhanging the seat. In addition the straps themselves lengthen by adjustment with the buckles on the straps.
I think all of these adjustments are in the instruction manual, which is available on line from the manufacturer if you have lost it.
Hope this helps!

Baby start car seat

Hi Florence,

With any carseat we would recommend a physical fitting prior to purchase to ensure it can be safely installed in your vehicle. As the seat was purchased from Argos we would recommend that you make contact Argos for fitting assistance.

Can the jane matrix car seat be used in the up right position from birth or is it only meant to be used flat. The upright position seems too upright and my baby seems in a very uncomfortable squashed...

Hi,

Yes, this seat is designed for newborns, but you are correct as this does look a rather acute angle. If you use the lay flat option for a few weeks until baby's head can support a little better, this is often the best option. Please note that the lay flat option can only be used until 10kg.

I hope this helps.

Need Instruction Manual for Jane Matrix Lie-Flat car seat

I think the instructions you get with this seat are really poor - the best place to find them is on U-tube. There is a full demonstration of how to fit the seat in both the lie flat and rear facing mode. I have followed this for both modes and it is really easy to understand.
Hope this helps!

Look under the seat: there is a plastic wedge. Move it forwards and put the seat back. That's it!
