What your Boss means is a patch for your Word 2003 so that you are able to open his Word 2007 documents. In the 2007 Office system Microsoft changed the file format .doc to .docx (An XML based document file). Word 2003 doesn't understand that since al previous versions uses the plain .doc format.

I take it this is what you need:
[Microsoft Office 2007 Compatibility Pack]

With these you should be able to open the documents he sent you.

I hope this helps. Please rate.

Greetings,

DarkNeogen.

I can no more received mail from my microsoft outlook 2007 and my e-mail is hotmail. Please help

You need to download the patch from Microsoft for outlook. Because of changes they made to the way Hotmail delivers mail in the HTML format you need to get that patch. Also make sure you are not using SSL for your sign on process. Hotmail doesn't accept secure login you need to use open login to get your hotmail email into outlook.

I just bought a Toshiba laptop with Window 7 loaded on it and now I am being asked for a product key when I try and open word. They loaded the 2007 Microsoft Office Home and Student on it.

You only get a 60 day TRIAL from microsoft.
Either pay for the full product (about £60)
Download a FREE office suite - Open Office
Uninstall your trial version and download a Full version with serial and activation patch.

How to open 2007 word document in 2003 word?

Hi there,

Two options.

One. Upgrade to 2007. A bit on the spendy side.

Two. All office products have the ability to Save their documents (etc.) in a format readable by previous versions.

I would ask your friend to open the file, save as a Word 2003 Document and resend the file. No expense, fast, easy.

Best regards
Mike

I have Microsoft Outlook Web Access, running with VISTA and IE 7. I can't type in the body of emails. There is an 'x' in the body space. Can someone help me change settings so as to write in the body?

Try this Solution on your desktop PC:
1. In Outlook Web Access [OWA] , click on the "options" in the left Task Pane.

2. Under “E-mail Security” and Click Install or Upgrade the S/MIME Control. This will download a new add-on.

3. Click “RUN” when asked about the Microsoft Outlook Web Access S/MIME install and security warning.

4. Close and RESTART IE7

If the above trick still doesn't work then it more sounds like the Exchange server needs a patch

[path to the patch]
If you by chance happen to maintain the exchange server then install the above patch and restart exchange service

or check this site for reference:

Good luck :)

Powerpoint 2007

Has the powerpoint document been saved as an office 2007 document or as a prior version? in office 2007 in order to open it in 2003 it must be saved as a prior version of office. You can download a patch to read newer versions, but that is not always the most reliable process.

Compatability patch forWord 2007

These are really 2 separate issues, so, manemang, you may want to repost your issue so it can be handled separately. Further, if you will direct the question to me, I will handle it as soon as I see it. The solution below addresses the first issue only. However, I would encourage you to verify that all Office products were handled likewise (uninstalled before 03 installation) because the common code within the suite could be affecting / causing the issues you are seeing.

Hufduf: Re your issue, if I understand correctly, you would like to be able to view or utilize in Word 03 documents produced in Word 07. This requires a conversion utility, located at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923505. You will see in this pack that MS has added the new Office Open XML Formats in order to accommodate this functionality.

These two packs should provide you with complete interchangeability between the two programs. Thank you for rating FixYa!

Going the other direction, to add the ability to Office 2003 to open, edit, and save documents, etc., in the new Office 2007 formats, there is an additional compatibility pack. This is located at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en.

First, you need to try update the latest microsoft office patch file from microsoft or you can open the MS Word, go to "HELP" menu select the update MS Word or related. Try the latest patch file first. You also can try windows update and select custom update, see their list have this problem solution or not. Second, you need to go to HP website download latest driver for LJ1020 and suitable use on Vista. Lastly, if still not solve the problem, you need this problem/issue to microsoft, ask their solutions. Kent
