I agree a soldering iron would sort it out or if you want to do a medium job of it this might get it working by cutting out the damaged wire and stripping each wire and then putting a connector block in between it you will have to strengthen the connection or it will come out again, beware this is a time consuming job but may work as I have recently done this with a usb lead you will lose some quality ie more resistance in the wire but it should work a quick fix untill you get the wire sorted out properly. djdizzys

Sorry for the delay. Was in the hospital. Anyway, You could look at Mouser.com for the connectors, or digi-key.com. You could also find the cable at either place. If you would rather have someone else build it find a reputable repair shop who would do it. If you would like you could contact me at 701-837-7937. We would do it for you, but I strongly recommend finding someone in your area. Hope this helps.

You are very correct on the Technics is unhelpful issue. I own and operate a repair shop and run into that issue a lot. You should be able to have one made or make it yourself. also the unit could easily be repaired. If you are comfortable with a soldering iron let me know. I will walk you through the process.

Can u help me please we're do the brown grey and white with pink line wires go

Four-Wire: Green

The green wire is the ground wire, and it is the difference between a three-wire and a four-wire cord. (In the three-wire system, the ground wire and the neutral wire are the same.) The green wire connects to the dryer frame. Look at the cord-connection terminals on the back of the dryer. Very close by, you should see a screw sticking out of the metal panel. It will be labeled "external ground connector" or something similar. Connect the green wire to that screw.

Four-Wire: Black

Most appliances in your house run on 120 volts of electricity, some on 240 volts. The dryer needs both--240 volts to run the drum and heating element, and 120 volts to run the timer, thermostat and other components. For this reason, the dryer cord has two live or "hot" wires--one black, one red--rather than a single hot wire. The dryer draws 120 volts from each hot wire to get the 240 volts it needs for the heavy work, then pairs one hot wire with the neutral wire for the 120 volts to run the smaller functions. Look again at the connection terminals on the back of the dryer. There should be three screws in a horizontal row. Connect the black hot wire to the terminal on the left.

Four-Wire: Red

Connect the other hot wire, the red wire, to the terminal on the right. (In truth, you could connect either hot wire to either hot terminal, but it's standard procedure to put the black on the left and the red on the right, so do so.)

Four-Wire: White

The white is the neutral wire, and it connects to the center terminal. There may be a metal strap attached to this terminal. That's a ground strap. When a three-wire cord is attached, it serves the same function as the ground screw mentioned above.

Three-Wire: Gray

If you have a three-wire cord, then all three wires will be gray. They're arranged side-by-side with the hot wires on the outside and the neutral wire in the middle. Attach the hot wires to the left and right terminals and the neutral wire to the center terminal. Make sure the ground strap is attached to the center terminal.

I have old style 4 prong plug,can i switch to 3 prong?

Yes. Remove old cord and install three prong with outer connectors to outer terminals on terminal block and middle to middle. There should be some kind of wire or strap that connects the middle terminal to the cabinet when you're done. A four wire setup should have removed the strap or wire but sometimes it isn't removed.

Kenmore 700 dryer with a three prong cord is being converted to four prong. Is there a drawing of what wires by color going to the proper screw location?

There's a ground strap wire (green/yellow) attached to the dryer cabinet and connected to the center terminal where the white neutral wire of the power cord is connected. Disconnect this ground strap wire and remove the 3-prong power cord from the terminal block taking note where the wires are connecedt to. Connect the 4-prong power cord in the same way same wire colors of the 3-prong cord are connected to the terminal block. Connect the ground strap wire to the remaining fourth wire (green/yellow). Just do the reverse when converting 4-prong to 3-prong. The link below might enlighten you further on this matter.

Connect the three-prong wire you have the way the same wires (Line 1, Neutral, and Line 2) of the four-prong wires are connected to the terminal block then connect the integrated grounding strap to the Neutral (center) terminal.

Change a three wire to a four wire.

To change from a three to a four wire cord you will need to remove the ground wire/strap that is currently connected to the center connection at the back of the dryer. This ground wire is going to look like a flat piece of either copper or aluminum that connects to the center peg and is screwed to the dyer cabinet right next to the cord terminal block SAVE THE SCREW. Doing this separates the electrical neutral and the cabinet ground.

Now when connecting the four wire cord, put the red and black wires on the outer connection posts (does not matter which goes on which side) and the white neutral wire connects to the center connector. The green or sometimes green with yellow stripe wire from the cord will connect to the cabinet where the ground strap you removed used to connect use the same screw that you removed earlier.

Good luck!

How to connect a four wire pigtail

The white wire goes to the middle terminal post on the dryer.
The red and black wires go to the outside terminal posts.Doesn't matter which.
The green ground wire needs to be attached to the outside metal case...anywhere. The easiest way is to put the eyelet on the screw that attaches the terminal cover plate when you put it back on. Sandwich it between the screw head, the plate and the case.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you need more info

Wireing thee wire to four wire, small metal tab between ground and middle wire.?do I take it off?

If you have a 3-wire appliance and you are replacing the 3-wire cable with a 4-wire cable, yes, you _must_ remove the metal tab (bonding strap) that is connected from the white wire on the terminal block to the frame.
Connect the black, red, and white wires to the terminal block, then connect the green wire to the frame using the green screw.
Usually the bonding strap stays under the (green) screw without being connected to the terminal block so should someone need to connect it back to a 3-wire cable the bonding strap will be there.

I have a 30 amp conversion cord with 4 wires and 3 terminals. What wire goes where?

Dryers come with a wire or metal strap connecting the center "neutral" terminal to the frame of the dryer. When using a four wire power cord, take that wire or strap off the frame. (it can be discarded or better yet, in case this dryer needs to ever be converted back to a three wire cord) connect the frame end of the wire / strap to the center terminal of the power block. Now, Green (ground) wire goes to the dryer frame, White (neutral) goes to the center terminal, and the Red and Black (both "hot") wires go to either outside terminal. (one to each)

I have a new 4 prong plug to replace a old 3 prong on dryer

On a three wire configuration, the ground and the negative are tied together at the center position, using the dryer ground strap. Following is a description of the difference between three and four wire. Hope it helps you.
These two pictures illustrate the power wiring on a the terminal of an electric dryer. The one on top/left is the old-style three-wire configuration. Most people have this type in their homes. New code changes, though, require that dryers now have a four-wire cord, shown on the bottom/right.
Besides the number of wires in each cord, there are two important things to notice. First, in the four-wire configuration, notice that the dryer's grounding strap is folded back on itself. The whole point of the four-wire cord is to separate the ground from the neutral. The green wire (the "new" extra wire in the four-wire cord) is attached to the dryer cabinet. In the three-wire configuration, the grounding strap is left intact and the neutral and ground are tied together.

Sure hope this helps you find a resolution to your delimma! Best wishes.
