How many times does it flash?

Odds are the A board components. Let me know how many times the stand-by light flashes, and I'll tell you want the fault might be.

My Sony trinitron has the stero lite on steady and standby lite flashes four times then pauses and repeats. Can you tell me the circuit/condition causing the set to not turn on.

Sony Trinitron TV. Worked well last evening. Now picture won't go on. When power is turned on, standby/timer red light flashes, but picture or sound does not work.

Forward voltage/current problem....needs a new board....You might try unplugging it for a few hours...If the TV starts you will need to leave it on until it gets repaired or replaced.

plse take your tv for repair
ask them to check the power supply
semi conductors, transistors, zener diodes, fusible resistor, of the supply

How many times does the timer light flash between pauses?

Hi i am a service center for sony we do a lot of these repairs most likley it is the voltage regulators in the power supply and cold solder joints on mother board and maybe horz out put transistor. some time it is screen voltage ajustment on fly back or maybe worse case bad tube that is the only things that cause this problem cost aroud 160dollars to 225 dollars

LED blinking Seven times. High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.

I have the same problem. When using the remote, it makes the clicking sounds like it turns on, then immediately makes the clicking sound of turning off. The LED blinks repeatedly 6 times over and over.
I *did* get it to come back on by holding the power button down for about 5 seconds. Now I'm afraid to turn it off again! :(
