Did you run the motherboard cd? The usb drivers are on it. Also, make sure they are enabled intthe BIOS.
Please let me know how this works for you.
thanks

Nosound

Hi there,

I am going to just have a few guesses at your problem as "nosound" doesnt really clarify it enough =]

If your onboard sound isnt working, You could try looking for an audio driver for this particular motherboard. Google "Intel D865GRH Onboard Sound Driver"

If you are using audio ports in a computer Case, make sure they are connected correctly to the motherboard, or use the audio ports on the back of the board.

Onboard sound does break on some of these older boards, Try using an external soundcard. (PCI or AGP) or a USB one. I picked a 7.1ch USB soundcard up off ebay for $8 and it works fine on all my old motherboards.

Hope this helps you, Best of luck.

No video in onboard plugin

If the motherboard has an onboard VGA output - try that. But first remove the plugin video card from the computer and then check the onboard VGA output.

Can you use the onboard video card and a PCI video card at the same time with the 945gtp mother board?

i dont think it does, but even the spec sheet from intel doesnt say for sure.

the only thing ths spec sheet says about it is that if you use a pci-e add-in vidoe card, the onboard video is disabled, so im guessing the integrated video isnt compatible with multiple views or cards.

Hello there.

It sounds like you do not have the additinal USB patch which you can download and install from here http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/utils/S3USB.zip

The article for the patch is here, which addresses the problem with USB failing to work.

Please run this fix and your USB should be working, if not then please get back to us and we can try additional steps.

Hope this helps.

Gigabyte onboard vga is not default... no pci card

What you can do here is remove the Battery on your mobo. This will reset the CMOS and then you should be able to access your CMOS as usual. :)

PCI GA-8ID533 V1.1

there is no PCI lock on any retail boards. But there are IRQ sharings and conflicts. Set IRQ to auto, if not, then manualy and if so, then disable a few things, just to free up some IRQs. All depends on the board, best is to consult the manual for the IRQ sharing table and work with that. (disable one SERIAL, IDE port or USB port if you need an extra IRQ) Also check for onboard equivalent to the card you are adding, disable the onboard part...
