jvc gz-mg330au and a powerbook g4 mac (pre-intel) running os 10.4.11.  Can download pictures off the camcorder with iphoto, but cannot download any of my videos!!!

    Please offer solutions?  Anyone???

Apple suggested upgrading the OS and buying a $40 software that provides better capacity for photo/video management.  However, if I do this than most of my other software and hardware won't work, because I run a small music studio and it takes the other hardware/software companies time to make their products compatible with the latest version of the mac os.

Try renaming the .mod file to .mov Quicktime still won't open it but vlc will, you can use ffmpeg to re-encode them. I was told that my JVC everioGZ-MG334 would be fine for me also. I wish I still had my DV tape camcorder firewire connection and was all a breeze.

I have an apple laptop, how do I transfer from my camcorder to a dvd on my apple.

You do not need drivers to get the footage from tape to a Mac. You do require a firewire cable and use iMovie or Final Cut to capture.

TRANSFER JVC HD7AA FILES INTO IMOVIE8

You need to use the firewire cable to transfer video, if I remember correctly the usb is only used for still images and cardreader.

I have an Everio GZ-MG130E Camcorder but I've lost the software when my computer crashed Where can I download so that i can transfer the film of my daughters wedding to my computer.

Hi Antonius,

Welcome to FixYa.

Unfortunately, JVC does not provide the complete software for download. You will have to purchase the software by contacting JVC support in your country.

But, you can transfer the files to your computer without installing the software as shown in the below images:

Can't transfer videos from JVC Everio camcorder onto my MAC

Share: How to import .tod files from JVC Everio HDD Camcorder to iMovie?

Requirements: iMovie (Part of the iLife 08 package)

Step 1: Connect the Everio to the Mac (Via USB)
Make sure you are powering the Everio from the mains before connecting your JVC Everio Camcorder.

Step 2: Playback on PC
Select “Playback on PC” on the Everio, once connected you will see the Everio HDD symbol appear on the desktop. The video files on the Everio are stored in the SD Folder/PRG***/MOV***.MOD.

Step 3: Open iMovie
Once you open iMovie, you will see that it recognizes the Everio straight away and will attempt to import your video.

You are now ready to use iMovie to edit your video files.

If need change .tod files to common video formats like mov, mp4, m4v, mpg, mpeg, dv, flv, avi, wmv, 3gp, mkv, mp3, aac, wma, m4a, etc. Mod Tod Video Converter for Mac is a good choice. The program can also convert mod tod to ipod, mod tod to iphone, tod to apple tv, tod to blackberry and more devices!

My mac OS 10.5 driver (disc) for Everio GZ HD7 camcorder?????

Hey Brett, unfortunately FCP and iMovie are looking for a device over Firewire or a capture card (whichever you have set up). The driver off of the disk is actually quite useless under any Mac Os 10. Video editing programs unless older or PC based rarely use USB for video transfer hence why none of the apps are locating the camera. Unfortunately you'll have to transfer the files via USB as data and use a program like MPEGStreamclip to transcode them to a file format those programs will understand. JVC has released updated software but it seems to do nothing at all. I hope this helps.
P.S. you may need the MPEG 2 Codec to do the conversions wether you're using MPEGStreamclip or another application.
