When the TomTom navigation software (on your SD card) is bad (corrupted, error) an X is shown on the screen ...
You'll want to try to recover the software from your backup (that you have made on your computer).
If you also have the TomTom navigation software on the main memory, try removing the SD card and start the GPS up again. If that works, you'll want to restore/re-install the copy of the navigation software on your SD card.
Otherwise, you'll need to connect your device to the HOME (or MyDrive Connect) software (on your computer/laptop) to see if you can re-install the software.
Recently, TomTom has decided to limit/stop support (including software/maps, etc.) for certain (older) models of TomTom GPS. If your model is one of those, you're out of luck. TomTom is trying to have you buy a new model.
You cannot load tom tom on your mobile. The mobile comes with map software on the memory card and you need to attach a GPS receiver via Bluetooth for it to be used as a GPS device.
I have a Tom Tom go 300 the existing memory card is only 128 MB. so i purchased a new 2GB sd memory card that is compatable with my device. I followed the instructions on Tom Tom Home which tells you to back up your TT take out the memory, install the new memory card and then restore your device, the problem is that it won't restore the information from my computer back onto the new 2GB memory card.
This problem is due to the memory card not containing the TomTom application or map. To update the application onto the memory card
Connect the device to your computer.
Open the TomTom Home application.
Click on 'Update My Device'.
This should then install the application onto the SD card. Alternativly, you could perform all the steps above without the SD card in the device, this will install the application onto the internal memory. Note: you may also need to install your maps, voices, etc after you updat.
Better Solution :
RESETTING PHONE BY NOKIA SECRET CODES (steps 1 and 2)
1st step : SOFT RESETTING NOKIA MOBILE
Take backups of ur phone books, calender and others, then
simply enter the code
*#7780#
2nd step : HARD RESETTING BY CODE
Just enter the code-
*#7370#
Then it asks for security code enter ur security code whose deafault value is
12345
NOTE:
The battery must be full or the charger has to be connected to the phone so
that it does not run out of power and make the phone unusable.
Take backup of the contacts and other important data in MMC .
FLASHING
3rd step :FLASHING: ANOTHER METHOD FOR
HARD FULL FORMATTING
This step is known as flashing of phone. Always do this step at last (after 1st
2 steps are over and u are not successfull)
1. Make sure you phone is fully charged. (At minimum 3/4 of bettery should be
left)
2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if
possible).
3. Switch-off your mobile phone.
4. Press and hold these three keys together
-Green dial key,-Star key (*)-Three key (3)
then press the power on/off to swtich on the phone.
Do not let go the three keys until you see the “formatting” screen displayed
5. After a few minutes, the format will be complete. Your mobile will now be at
its original factory settings (It will reach the same state as that in when you
purchased it).
if now also u have problem go with updating your firware/phone software.
Install NOKIA PC SUITE into your computer now connect your
mobile with the data cable and
computer through usb port. After that start NOKIA PCSUITE and select option
update phone software ,it will install the lates software/firmware for your
mobile and will solve the problem too...................enjoy

files sent by bluetooth go to the phones own memory. You have to move them to your memory card manually, you may have 2 copies of some files , 1 in memory and 1 on the card.
