i have just bought George from a friend and he has never used the wet side of things . When i turned the hoover on i cant seem to get the wet button to work. Do i have to have the hoover main button on first and then press the wet button?

The hoover facility is fantastic but when I try to shampoo my carpets I have the sound but not the action. I've borrowed this from a friend who is not around to ask.

Hi.
No the switch for the pump will work without main vacuum switched on.
Your problem could either be faulty pump switch or faulty pump,
You should be able to get spares relatively easy from any independant vacuum repair shop.
Dont try currys etc they wont have a clue what your talking about.

The pump can seize up if the the system is not flushed with clean water after using carpet shampoo. You should run half a tank of clean water through Geroge before putting him away. The only solution is a new pump or pump motor.
