Question about UPS Battery Backup Systems

Printer issue I have recently hoocked back up my MFC 9200C to my computer and it does not communicate. I remember having this problem before and someone showed me how to reset the printer on the pad on the printer itself, but I don't remember. Any solutions? My printer is hooked to the computer by a USB cable. When I give a print command nothing happens.

Do this if your printer is connected to your pc with a usb cable check the connection from the sytem unit then to the printer itself if finely connected then check from the control panel where you have set it as the default printer.

Back up devices on the computer creates copies of every new features that are performed. The backup devices default settings may allow to save data every often like 2-3 times in 24 hours. also, the backup devices save settings can be altered to suit user speciifcations. for example, important projects on important files may require to save every few seconds lest any malfuntion that occurs to the computer is misplaced. back devices are considered external structures and should be locate on the computer systems control panel area with a unique description. Clicking on the backup devices logos would allow to manipulate either create urgent backup or space the backup to make the computer faster where back becomes attainabel durign idle hours.( for example, set the computer backup to first tthing in the morning or last at close of computer usage.)

Failure to initialize after a microsoft update was installed


Go into the control panel and find the device manager. Then locate the UPS unit and right click and update driver. Then pick roll-back driver. This should install the prevous driver that was working properly. Then when you do windows update make sure to set it to hide that update so you don't re-install it again.

The whole problem seemed to be tied up with McAfee antivirus. It seems that this program runs its own firewall settings that sometimes interfere with the computer's communication. Once this program was removed and another antivirus installed, but problem was resolved.

UPS not seeing AC.


I would suspect "dirty" power to be the cause. You might want to measure & monitor what the voltage levels are that you're getting from that particular mains source. Either it is already below the set threshhold to switch to battery, or it dips below it, and never comes up enough to reach the threshhold to return back to AC power.

Cp1200avr communications issues w/vista ultimate


Make sure you have the most recent version of the software which will disable the Vista battery options and allow our software to properly communicate with the battery backup.

Backup unable to communicate with computer


Plz check your computer without ups.If it is runing there.And wattage of ups .It seem over load or shortage of ups.Check power cable.

Desk top APC UPS ES750 not communicating


Here is an answer I got from APC when one of my client got the same problem as you did:

The error message would pop up if the link between the computer and the UPS is weak. I cannot rule out a problem with the cable or the UPS. In order to confirm the same please try the following steps which might help :

1) Ensure that the USB cable is properly connected to the USB port of the computer.

2) If the PC was powered on before the UPS, communication will not be achieved until you disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to the host. In this case, you need to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable to establish communication.

3) Some other software is polling your USB port for another device, thus causing the UPS software to temporarily lose communication with your UPS. If this is the case, you would need to shut down that application.

4) If you have any other USB devices connected to the PC, disconnect them and then try plugging in the cable.

Ok, but anyway I am still to help you, Is it the problem goes to the manual installation you need or the driver instead?

Printers used to be the bugbear of computer users. They were difficult to set up and ornery in operation. That's no longer the case and it's likely you'll have no problems getting your printer up and running. This is particularly the case if your printer comes packaged with your computer system or if you stick to well-known brands such as Hewlett-Packard, Epson, Lexmark and Canon.
Connecting a printer involves four steps:
  1. Unpacking your printer, removing any packaging material and installing the ink or toner cartridge. Refer to your printer's instructions to guide you.
  2. Connecting the printer cable to the printer and to the back of your computer.
  3. Connecting the printer's power cord to a power outlet.
  4. Installing the printer driver and any additional software. The printer driver is a piece of software that tells your computer how to interact with your printer.
If your printer comes as part of your system, you may find that its driver is already installed. In that case, all you'll need to do is unpack it, connect the printer cable and power cord and switch on your computer.

You'll need the correct type of cable for your printer: If it's a USB-enabled printer, you need a USB cable (note, the new USB 2 cables work with older USB 1 printers, too; so if in doubt, get a USB 2 cable); if it's a parallel printer, you'll need a parallel cable.
Make sure you get a cable long enough to reach easily from your printer to your computer.   1. Make sure you have your original Windows CD-ROM handy. You may need it.
  2. Switch the computer off.
  3. Connect the parallel printer cable to your computer.
  4. Connect the printer's power cord to a power outlet.
  5. Switch on the printer and the computer.
  6. In most cases, Windows will detect that you've attached a new hardware device and it will launch the Add Hardware Wizard and attempt to search for the appropriate software. If the wizard doesn't launch and Windows appears to ignore your printer, you can launch the Add Printer wizard yourself by clicking the Start button, selecting Control Panel, clicking Printers And Other Hardware, and then clicking Add Printer.
  7. If the printer is directly connected to your computer, select the Local Printer Attached To This Computer option. If you will be connecting to the printer via a network connection, select the Network Printer option, then click Next.
  8. The wizard will first try to search for any Plug and Play devices (these are components that should, by rights, automatically notify Windows when they're first connected). If the wizard discovers your printer, it will display further instructions to complete the installation. You may need to restart your system to finish.
