I just called Polycom and the guy said it starts with 0003 or 0004. Sure enough I had one of those numbers, it was the same as the serial number on the box the phone came in. This number is found on a sticker on the back side of the phone. Easy to find, but not labeled as a "mac address"

Ping the IP address of Viewstation from your computer.
Open command prompt and type arp -a
The MAC address will be listed in front of the ip address of Viewstation.

Let me know what happens.

To get the mac address to any polycom viewphone is to call polycom directly. There is no way to get it directly from the device.
Be sure to have the device's serial number on hand as tech support will ask you for it.
There is no charge for asking for the mac address from their technical support staff. It will say they will charge a $25 per incident fee but that didn't happen to me today.

Click on the System Info icon

Select the 'Admin setup' menu -> Enter the password (use the central dot button in the remote for onscreen keyboard) -> Go to 'Software/Hardware' -> locate the MAC address :)

Connect your pc using hub or switch. Make sure your pc ip address is configured in the same subnet as your polycom. e.g. polycom ip address 10.10.10.1 mask 255.255.255.0 pc ip address 10.10.10.2 mask 255.255.255.0
open dos command box. click start, run, cmd, enter... ping 10.10.10.1 arp -a you should see physical address belongs to 10.10.10.1 that is the mac address you are looking for.

Polycom ViewStation SP will not power on.

First you should check if the power supply is working. You can buy a different one on ebay or if you have a second one you can see if that is the cause. If your power supply says "Spectre" instead of Polycom then it is a good chance that the power supply is at fault. Those weren't so reliable.

Polycom Fx doesn't power on or show any signs of life

Try disconnecting the ISDN module and then cycling the power. If that doesn't work speak to your support provider about repair costs. Ultimately you may need to replace it because of its age (it might be End of Life and not available for repair)

Connecting a polycom

No, i don't think si. The polycom needs an ethernet connection to a router. You might get this working by putting the 3g card into a PC and enabling connection sharing, however even if you got it work itsd a bad solution in terms of:
- Cost
- Reliability
- Security.
ADSL would be better.

Are you able to move the camera using the remote?
If not, then you may have a hardware issue.
If yes, then try to connect to the Viewstation (web interface) using its IP from a Computer.
