Check your motherboard version. Note:
Only PCB R2.0(or higher) support Intel® Core™2 processor

You should find the information between the pci slots Or close to the asus heatsink next to the cpu.
Its quite small text, eg 1.01 1.0 2.0 etc.

If the number is difrent from R2.0 or 2.0 then your motherboard does not support the cpu.

If it is so then you have to change to a difrent motherboard.

Hi How to fix.....? No picture on screen any one can help me..........? mainboard P5LD2-FM/2

First, see what led up to the picture not appearing.
Did the computer suddenly go off, or was it playing up for a while beforehand?
I have this board and it has generally been trouble free, although from time to time it will not show a picture and needs rebooting.

If you can, try this on a different monitor to see if the monitor is at fault first

  • Check that you are getting power to the board. That the PSU is switched on and is giving the green led light.
  • Next, do the fans on the board spin up? Is the CPU fan working?
  • Is there a light on the power button and is there a light on the board led?
  • Is the graphics card (if fitted) tight in the slot and if you are using the onboard graphics, is the VGA lead firmly connected?
  • Can you boot into safe mode (F8)? Or is this a problem even if that is tried?
  • Physically inspect the motherboard, can you see any signs of blowing or bulging capacitors, or any other burned components?
  • Next check the RAM, remove and replace one stick at a time.
  • Did you install any windows updates recently? Or updates to the graphics driver? If so, re-install the graphics driver as soon as you get a working screen.
After that, or if you are getting no power to the board / power but no action from fans, suspect a component failure on the board. if the board checks out, check the CPU heatsink after 10 minutes of it being switched on, it should be warm, if it is not, the CPU may have failed

I have 3 wires on my pc and i dont know where to connect them on my motherbaord - the wires have writen on them "HDD LED" "PWR LED" "PWR S/W" can any1 help me?

Hi Dan,
The wires are from the front panel. HDD LED which causes an led (usually red) light to turn on when the Hard Drive is active. The PWR LED turns on an LED light (usually green) when you turn on your computer. The PWR S/W turns on your computer when you press the on button of your computer. The front panel connector riser is usually located on the bottom right of your computer. They fit on little pins. Unfortunately there is no standard, so connections vary. Sometimes the pins are labeled on the motherboard. . Check your manual. For more info do a google search for "Motherboard front panel connectors". Hank

Connect power swithc and led cables to foxconn n15235

Still have your Foxconn manual? Turn to page 19. See figure FP1.
Download manual from Foxconn, click on the link provided;
http://www.foxconnchannel.com/en-us/product/Motherboards/detail_overview.aspx?ID=en-gb0000154

System cases vary when it comes to wire colors. The most common wire colors for positive are, solid blue, light blue, solid red, solid green, light green. Negative wire colors. Each led, IDE-LED, Reset, PWR-LED and PWRBTN should share a negative colored wire. Common is the solid color white but this can vary from case to case.

Good luck!
Mike

Front panel to motherboard, ASRock P4i65G, connections

the power switch is on the 3 and 4 pins....the 7 and 8 pin are the reset pins. Trying it on wrong pins just won't startup the board but won't short circuit anything.

Pc restart problem

Yes, your mobo Asus P5LD2-VM support CPUs with Conroe-core ("Core 2 Duo"). http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P5LD2-VM But for new CPUs strongly recommended use last BIOS version - 1401 from 2007/08/14. http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5LD2-VM/P5LD2-VM-1401.rar
