Get the rubber door boot loose, reach inside to where the door latch is and remove the 2 screws holding it in. Then put the screw back in but add a washer on the inside before you screw it back into the latch. Do this on both screws and it will set the latch further in the thickness of the washers. If one doesn't work you can try 2 but make sure the door can still lock or the unit won't run.

There is a spring at the bottom center of the door gasket. Stretch that out and a wire will come off from around the gasket you can then pull the gasket off and reach in. Be sure you get the gasket back on all the way and the wire right or it will leak. Good luck.

We broke the door handle on our Malber 1000 Can we order a new one and can we fix it ourselves?

Mike, in Washington D.C., again. Of course you can do it yourself. First call Joel (Malber in NY) at 800-600-8913 or 516-294-6660 . Tell him which model machine you need a door latch for (if you aren't sure, check label in rear). Once you've received your new latch assy (about $20): Open door, and notice white plastic "ring" around glass is actually 2 pieces (front and rear) snapped together - with a seam around periphery. Unsnap (separate) them by either getting your fingernails into the seam and pulling them apart - or prying them open with a spackle knife or thin screwdriver blade. Once it starts coming apart, just work the opening all the way around. Remove front "ring" and set aside. Using a 1.5mm Torx screwdriver, remove 2 small screws holding broken latch assy. Note the way the ends of the spring go under the 2 screws. That's the way it has to go back. Slip new latch assy into place, pressing vertical "hinge pin" and ends of spring into slots (near screw holes). Replace 2 screws. Test latch with door open - is it working? Try closing door. All good? Replace front "ring": Open door and, while pulling out on latch handle, slip the ring over the latch handle and get it into approximate position. Let go of latch (it snaps into "closed" position) and adjust ring so it doesn't bind the latch handle (meaning it's free to move). Now, beginning anywhere on outside edge, begin snapping rings together - and continue all the way around. Test that door latch still operates smoothly and that door latches shut properly. FYI: There is no adjustment for this latch assy - it just fits precisely where it's supposed to. Good luck and God Bless ...

I have a Miele W404SB WPS washing machine. Water leaks out of the door during the washing cycle. Do you have any suggestions how I can stop this. Regards, Teresa Rooney

1. Make sure the washer is level first, with a small torpedo level at the top center edge of the washer ,check at the front and one side. If its not, adjust the 2 front level foot adjusters (at the front of the unit where they touch the floor) to level the washer.
2. If level is ok, check the door seal and replace if cracked or torn or old and hardened.
3. If ok, look at the latch on the door and the washer. Some have an adjustment for how far the door closes to latch. There will be 2 screws or small bolts you will loosen to slide the lever or the latch plate to adjust so the door closes tighter.
4. If ok, then the water level sensor will have to be replaced by a qualified tech.

Fix a new door seal on an= washing machine

Heres an old trick and recommended by certain manufacturers: You shim the latch with washers. That makes the lock close tighter and reduces leaks to a minimum. Using correct amounts of detergent also minimises leaks aroud the door as well as musty odors.

Maytag front loading washer

first check that gasket around door for rips tears and warpped condiction..if that not the case this will help...easy now go slow than check unit,,grasp the door and bend SLOWLY..from bottom of door and hinge,,because sometimes we hang wet clothes over the door ,and bend the hinge..the last but neat trick is to put 2 washers behind the door latch lock..between the door latchlock,,and the inner panel..that will push the latch back and make the door itself get tighter against the gasket..dont worry about the extra water that is just a flush down,,,keep me posted onthejob

Door gasket leaks at the bottom when spray nozzle goes on

happy new years,,i believe you mean when the recirulating pump comes on about 4 to 8 mintues into door and fell if any lint stuck up there if so use a needle nose pliers to pull out..check the bellows or gasket around door and make sure your not ripped ,,or missing a this is cheaper than buying new gasket...unplug unit ..than remove door switch and put 1 washer on the back of each screw ,,but put washer on inside of unit between panel and door latch ...this will push latch back and make door come forward so to be here,,onthejob
