try clean the gold contacts that touches the printer and the catridge.I remember some of the pins tells the printer the leftover ink in the catridge.

the other thing is, hp ink will 'expire'. there is a fixed date stored in the chip of the catridge. if the date is expired, you cant use the ink regardless its full or empty.

Catridge is not detectet

Printer cartridges are very sensitive especially the contact points (gold contact points) and the printer head itself. The only thing you can do is to clean the contact points and the ink head (nozzle) with a soft cloth or a cotton buds wet with a household 70% alcohol. This will soften the hardened ink You can also clean the contact point on the printer itself. Let the alcohol dries up, reinstall the cartridge then power on again. If error persist, buy new cartridges.
Good luck

Does not print in color although we have a new color cartridge in there and the print preview shows that it should be in color

Ink may be new, but their nozzles may be blocked; depending on manner of storage. To be sure apply a folded tissue paper to the ink nuzzle and press firmly. If the tissue comes off well blotted with ink it means you still have a good amount of ink in it and the nozzle is not blocked. If not blotted or scantily blotted, it means ink is really low or nuzzle is blocked. To be very sure of this, place nuzzle in a plate/saucer with a bit water so that the nuzzle is soaked. Leave for about 10 minutes. Then apply the tissue again. If still not well blotted it means ink is really low or empty. If new you should return it for a replacement. In the case of blocked nozzles, the procedure may be repeated over to get results.

My HP 6500 on install will recognize Cyan ink

Solution:

1. Try to determine whether the catridge is at fault. How so? Switch the Magenta with the Cyan catridge. Press OK.

2. If system indicates that the Magenta is not installed, you will know that the Cyan that you put there is at fault.

3. Touch the 9 mm. hole where you can see the sponge. Does the Cyan color transfer to your finger? If not, the catridge is empty or dried up. Replace or refill.

4. If the ink is normal, then use some toilet tissue to wipe the gold contact points clean. If this fails to solve your problem, take it to your dealer and ask for a replacement (if it fails to work in their machine).

5. If this fails, then the problem is within your HP 6500. You need a technician.

Please remove the printer catridge and clean the the extra ink in the catridge holder and in the catridge connection point with the soft cloth without damaging the cables in the catridge and the holder then test it

HP 3210 not printing black ink

Look at the posts on "black ink problem" later on this site (mostly Dec).

This appears to be a very common issue with this model and results from a serious design error.

You may need to force the blockage out of the black ink feeder system, a messy process.

The 9 offers on "black ink problem" give various suggestions: try the top one.

It thinks the ink cartridge is not installed, but it is

It's because you touched the connection side of the cartidge. Clean it with some contact cleaner(or surgical sprit)and let it dry.If possible clean the printer side of catridge contact. After both are dried well, put the catridge back.it must work.
