Buttons on front console no longer work.

All functions on remote work fine, but none of the buttons on front console (except for on/off) work anymore. unit is 6 years old.. also, the tray moves in/out much slower than it used to. plays fine using remote.

That's it! Our 4 year old daughter has been fiddling with the remote, so that must have activated the keylock function.
(most of those remote buttons we never even use).
    Thank you!

I have lost the remote and the key lock function must have been activated by something else. How can I unlock the key lock function without the remote contol?

NO!!!! This dvd player has a KeyLock function which can be accessed by the remote which came with the player. Try to turn the keyLock off it should help.

BDV E2100 LOCKED IN TV MODE

Once again a simple GOOGLE search, and the first thing on the list is the manual for this unit!

I suspect this is what you need.

Deactivating the Buttons on the Unit
(Child Lock)
You can deactivate the buttons on the unit
(except for on/off) for preventing misoperation, such as child mischief.
Hold down
(stop/square black button)
on the unit for more than 5 seconds."LOCKED" appears in the front panel display.
The child lock function is activated and the buttons on the unit are locked. (You can operate the system by using the remote control.)
To cancel, hold down
(stop/square black button)
for more than 5 seconds until "UNLOCK" appears in the front panel display.

If that's not the problem, here's the link for the manual.

Unit turns on and off but nothing else works

Simultaneously press the [CHANNEL UP] and [CHANNEL DOWN] buttons on the front of the DVD Recorder for approximately 10 - 15 seconds (until the unit powers off).

Disconnect the wall outlet. Wait for 10 minutes. Then power up.

It this still does not help....and If you are capable of taking the risk check out DMR-EZ47 Firmware Installation Instructions
Panasonic DMR EZ47 Installation Instructions Manual

Familiarize yourself with all the steps and especially the page 7,8 before you attempt this,

DVD has been working fine but recently moved it to decorate. Now all is I get is 'Hello' when it starts up and none of the functions work. It won't even open or close manually?

see this causes and fix it God bless you
  1. Bad connections to one or more buttons or sets of buttons.
  2. Microcontroller failed to reset properly.
  3. Missing/bad voltages from power supply.
  4. Defective microcontroller or other logic

I have an old Panasonic tube tv and no remote. I have tried countless universal remotes and none of them will program to the tv. I used to be able to hook up my playstation1 or dvd player and it would work...

You can't, you only hope is to see if a TV repair store that has been around for long time may have a used remote for your make and model kicking around.

Hello, my remote for my Panasonic DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder / VCR Combo recently stopped working, and whenever I press a button on the remote, I get a message on the display as "RC1" I'm guessing...

Actually, you are sort of correct, in a sense, RC1 means remote command mode 1 (the default mode of your combo unit). There is one way you can try to fix this:

Remove the batteries from the remote, press any button on it to clear its existing memory buffer, then re-insert them or replace them with new ones. While unit is on (no DVDs or tapes in it), point the remote at it - press and hold 1 and ENTER/OK buttons together for 10 seconds, then release.

This should (in most cases) restore full remote command operation to your combo unit - if when you press a channel button on it, and the unit's front channel changes, the remote is now functioning as it is meant to.

The good news is this will constitute any workshop repairs or costs (except perhaps new batteries for the remote if required).

I hope this helps a bit.

Remote control does not work at all.

The winner is....

SET 1 on the console; press and hold the ENTER button down and while holding Enter; press and hold "1" button for about ten seconds together. Your remote and console should be in sync again and try cutting off the dvd recorder with the remote and it should work.

THIS WORKED FOR ME!!!!

THANKS!

Panel front

The first unit might have a broken or crack front panel,is possible since it was purchased new,it will be a good idea to remove the top cover and try to see if something is broken in the front, you can also remove the front and have a better look.Let Us know how it goes, make sure the unit is not plug in if you try it.
