Question about Sony PlayStation 2 Slimline Console
I got a ps2 slim for christmas which was around 3 months ago and there is a little box when you open it up with a orange like slip attached to it. Well the problem is the box never moved before until a couple of days ago when i put in a disk and a loud tapping noise was heard. The box had been moved up to the disk spinner and was keeping the disks from spinning. I turned it off because maybe i though it overheated or something and we even set it upright and the next day we tried again and that's when i realized it was the box thing rubbing up on the disk spinner. What i would like to know is can it be fixed or do i have to buy a new one all together. Thank you.
I can fix your ps2 for you for a fraction of the price of getting a professional to do it. My friend had the same problem its easy to fix

The best solution would be to etiher turn it upward or use a lens cleaner

First of all the new laser lens will not allow your Slim to read NTSC UC games if you have a PAL european Console.
There is no reason the New laser should have not read the disc unless it Came to you damaged. It sounds like you know how to replace a laser.
