Help!! I have the same problem as above. I have the same model as above and it is always cutting out. Thetrouble shooting guide within th mannual says that this symptom is caused by speaking wires short circuiting yet I have replaced mine and that does not do a thing.

My amp cutts out and blinks red while on any mode (video1, tune, tape etc).

Does anyone know the reason for this problem or a solution?

Resetting the Microcomputer

    Resetting the Microcomputer !

If the microcomputer may malfunction (unit cannot be operated,
or shows an erroneous display) if the power cord is unplugged
while the power is ON, or due to some other external factor. If this
happens, execute the following procedure to reset the microcomputer
and return the unit to its normal operating condition.

With the power cord plugged in, turn the POWER key
OFF. Then, while holding down the ON/STANDBY key,
    press POWER.

    • Please note that resetting the microcomputer will clear the contents
of the memory and returns the unit to the state it was in when it left the
    factory.

Thanks n' let me know.

Sounds ok but not dialogue...

It sounds to me like you are using the receiver in surround sound mode and the click you hear is the center channel turning off. If you have another center channel speaker, try swapping that for the one you are currently using. If that doesn't fix the issue, then try replacing the speaker wire. If that still doesn't fix it, then the issue is probably inside the receiver and may be either an output transistor that is failing when hot or an electrolytic capacitor that allows too much DC offset when hot.

This unit is in what is called "protect" mode/ See the link below for an explanation of this. Specifically to your unit, the output components are unique to Kenwood and are not cheap. Further investigation to locate the reason for the protect mode will be necessary prior to any attempt to estimate the cost of repair. Something as simple as a missign voltage can cause this symptom.

Please feel free to update this with any other questions or concerns that you may have.

Hi, my speakers are starting to sound a bit weird and i think its cause of pplaying around with the equalizers and settings on the Kenwood Amplifier, am just wondering if there is a reset button to restore...

Why guess? Get the manual out and actually look at the settings to see if they're out in space somewhere. If you don't try to understand what went wrong you will repeat it.

Kenwood stereo synthesizer tuner t-85l

T-85L is a component of a hifi system not suposed to work alone. You have to connect it to another Kenwood component (an amplifier like the A85 ) through a special cable to power it on/off. The special cable can be used point to point or as daisy-chained.
