Lost Owners Manual - Can't get Audio Out Jacks to Work

I have a Zenith Z27H41D TV that I inherited from my father. It has right and left RCA type audio out jacks. However, I connected two bookshelf speakers to these jacks and there was no sound coming from the added speakers. I don't have an owners manual and would like to know why the speakers won't work.

This tv does not have an amp to power those speaker. The audio jacks are to provide audio to a tuner and amp which then power separate speakers. The audio output jacks just cant power speakers on its own in this set. Hope this helps you.

The manual is avild here http://www.manualsparadise.com/pages/P061220/P94561532.html

but look and see if there is a switch on the back of the tv that sayes external speakers, if so us that and you book self speaker will work, also check in the menu under audio for this same setting, if none of these are there look at the back again this might be a audio out jack that is made to go into a amplifier

hope this gets you on the right track

Why are my channels fuzzy?

Hi Virginia,
I have the manual link for you for your TV, basically your issue falls into INPUT issue. Kindly check if the INPUT of your TV is correct. Steps below:

- INPUT SELECT button- Press to select
TV or the external input (VIDEO1,
VIDEO2) mode.
(See USING AUDIO/VIDEO INPUT JACKS.

- AUDIO (INPUT) L/R jacks- Connect to
the left/right channel audio output jacks of
a video camera or VCR.
Note: The AUDIO (INPUT)L jack is for
mono input. The sound is heard from both
speakers. Use this jack for monaural audio
equipment to be hooked up.

These steps is in page 2 of the manual. Hope it helps.

How to find JVC AV27320 headphone jack? I've plugged into the avs(red & white) in the front panel as well as the extra ones in the back. Altho - I CAN hear the sound thru the headphones, The external...

This model doesn't have a headphone jack. The only JVC TV in the series that does is the model AV-20D202. For the JVC AV-2732, use the RCA audio out jacks with an RCA to 3.5 mm adapter to connect to the headphones. The front audio jacks are audio in (for the audio from a video camera for example).

When you use any external speakers or headphones through the audio out jacks, make sure to turn off the TV speakers. Press Menu and navigate down to TV Speakers (up/down arrows). Then use the right/left arrows to select Off and then Exit the menu. Make sure you scroll the TV volume before doing this. Note: if your headphones do not have a volume control they are a bad choice for this type of audio output.

You can find the manual for the TV here: http://books.jvc.com/booklist.asp?Model=AV-27230 .

I wish that I had better news for you.

The TV is telling you the front audio/video jacks are in use. In this case, do plug in your RCA jacks there.

How to conect my vcr to the tv

Depending on the VCR use an S-video cable with the RCA audio cables or the three RCA (Red and white audio and the yellow video) AV option. Attach them from the output of the VCR to the inputs of the television. The audio in jacks are the ones on the bottom; the upper ones are audio out for external speakers.

Also connect the antenna out (RF) from the VCR to the TV if the VCR has a tuner. (Incoming signal goes to the VCR if you are using this option).

I hope this helps.

Lost manual need to know what are the right

You must be referring to the RCA jacks. this is true for most video appliances the yellow jack is always video. red is always right audio and white is always left audio. I have yet to see a standard TV with video out but they usually have audio out

I do not find a vedio/audio(red, yellow, white)ports to connect to my DVD player. What is the alternative way to connect to my DVD player using this TV? Thanks

There are 5 RCA connectors on the back of this TV, (according to the manual). The lower three from left to right are Video in, Audio Left in, Audio Right in. There are also two RCA connectors above these that are the L/R audio outputs. Also, there is an S-Video input which I would recommend using instead of the RCA Video in. You'll still need to use the RCA inputs, but the S-Video will give you the best video connection into this monitor.

I HAVE A RCA TELEVISION, MODEL F20632. I CANNOT FIND THE MANUAL TO HELP ME SET UP MY VCR. I HAVE A 4-PLUG VIDEO CABLE (YELLOW, BLACK, GREEN AND RED). CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH CONNECTIONS ON THE TV I NEED TO...

the yellow rca input jack( not the output one ) is for video in (by itself ) and the red and white rca jack inputs are for the right and left audio that is also required when using the yellow video jack
the red and white audio jacks are also required when using the component video inputs ( BLUE , GREEN & RED ) rca jacks
but only one type of connection is required ( yellow video jack , red and white audio jacks ) or ( the blue , green and red component video jacks and the red and white audio jacks )

you will need the yellow video input and the red and white audio inputs

Technical help

You need an audio y cable - That is a cable with a headphone jack (to plug into the speaker/line out jack on the laptop) and on the other end 2 rca jacks (they need to be plugged into the left and right audio inputs on your tv but make sure it is the same inputs that work with the s-video cable) That should get you sound on your tv. You can get 1 here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812196019 Or pick 1 up at your local $1 store. Or if you have an old pair of headphones, rca jacks and wire you can even make one.

The best way to diagnose is to unplug everything execpt pwr & ant & test & plug one wire in & test and ditto, untill you find the culprit. If this does not work check the pwr supply and any connecting leads in the tv.This way you narrow the possibilitys down(is it the tv or the input device.) regards Chook.
