Same problem with the 4200 all in one printer...hours on live chat. Rude people, too.

Bought a 7280 on Mar. 18, 2008 and am getting the same problem. All other functions seem to work fine. Have not contacted HP yet. Sounds like it won't be worth the time right now.

Will try an uninstall, reboot, re-install and repost.

Have same problem on C7280. However it did work fine originally. From Photoshop it scans fine. It happened either when I went to Adobe CS3 or a windows update. Tried all the "fixes" I googled to no avail. Definitely an HP issue. You would think they would step up to it!!!

Officejet J6480. Network printer. can't scan from HP Solution Center. symptoms vary. sometimes it scans once then says it can't find the scanner. sometimes it says another application is using the device. Spent 7 hrs with HP on chat during 7 sessions. 5 Uninstalls and Installs. There was one missing file hpqscnvw.exe. They said this was because I installed it as a network printer and I should have installed it as a USB then changed it over. When I asked how this one file would be missing because of this they had no answer. At this point I gave up and I'm using Microsoft Office Document scanning. I don't do that much scanning so it's an acceptable workaround.

I tried several times to install my HP Photosmart C4180 All In One Printer. I unistall/reinstall at least 6 times.. Pinter works, but when I try to scan a doument or picture I recevie this error message " HP Cue- Scanning Flow Component has stopped working.. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I have not received notice as to why this keeps happeingi. I googled to see what this error message meant & it gave a reason that it could be my Kodak pictures or Adobe software. I do not want to lose any of my pictures. Do you have a better solution.

I have an HP Photosmart C7280 and have HP Cue Scanning Flow Component has Stopped working error message and plus I get a Destination Component has stopped working error message. Been in touch with HP by phone, online & email, uninstalled several times, no solution. Have also tried turning off HP Cue Flow Component & HPQCXS08. Still get both of these error messages every time I use the printer, it is really bugging me.

I have word by word problem as many others - have an HP Photosmart C7280 and have HP Cue Scanning Flow Component has Stopped working error message. In addiition i am unable to delete the driver und uninstall (have tried everything including L4_uninstall) but nothing works. After 8+ hours of chatting with HP support and their reluctant and cluelsess advice, I wonder how HP can maintain such an absent and arrogant attitude versus its customers.

Hp needs to do something or they wil lose their entire customer base. I am very stubborn and have been reading the "soultions" - none of which work for my problem, and doing the uninstalls and reinstalls and clearing out the temporary files and leftover sludge in between and woul like to throw the printer off Mt. Everest and never buy another HP product of any kind.

I have a Vista Home premium on my laptop. I was facing same problem with my HP Photosmart C4488. Copy & Print functions worked fine, however I got this HP CUE error while trying to Scan.  I reinstalled drivers by downloading latest ones from HP site, tried few tricks like stopping some of the HP services but nothing worked. Finally, I switched the user and logged in as a different user (as one of the forums suggested creating a new user profile) and it worked! I guess the problem with previous profile was the presence of some other imaging software. I had some which I did uninstall while trying all these tricks. Spent hours on it, was at wits end totally...but all's well that ends well :)

The problem seems to be HP imaging software won't work if you have Kodak or Adobe photo tools on your system (and maybe others).
My problem was when I use the HP Solution Center, and click "Scan a Document", I get an error window that says "HP-CUE" needs to close. When I click the "details" link, it says hpqkygrp.exe caused the problem when it called msvcr80.dll. Removing and reinstalling the HP software 6 times, and finally rebuilding XP, still didn't help.
I used Google to research "msvcr80.dll" problems, and noticed some similarities ... it is used by other photo/imaging applications. Here is what I discovered that fixed my HP Scanner problems.
1- Removed the entire HP suite; C6280 drivers and all related HP programs (use HP's TOTAL removal tool on their CD under "\util\ccc\Uninstall_L4.bat")
2- Removed Kodak photo programs
3- Removed Adobe Photoshop
(you may have to remove photo/imaging applications from other vendors, these are the only 2 I had loaded here)
4- Installed the HP C6280 suite
(more of the solution follows)
It now works perfectly. But once the HP software is installed, I couldn't reinstall either Kodak or Adobe photo software. Both use InstallShield and their installation would hang; Process Explorer (MS SystemInternals) showed that "ntvdm.dll" was hung(a subprocess of the installation). To fix this problem I found I had to temporarily stop the Services that HP starts.
5- Go into "Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Services"
6- Stop "HP Cue DeviceDiscovery" service
7- Stop "HP Network Devices Support" service
8- Stop "hpqcsx08" service
9- Installed Kodak and Photoshop
10- Restarted the above HP services
They have all been working for a week now.

I suspect the HP-CUE software was written by a summer intern ... the inability of HP's imaging software to work if you've previously loaded Kodak was reported back in 2005, and HP's solution was to stop using Kodak software. I wonder if they feel that way about Adobe photo software too ... maybe we should all just buy HP digital cameras?

Try completely uninstalling the product and reboot. Reinstall your disk.
If this does not work, please share your OS and scanner/printer brand and model.

Installed new ink cartridges in my PIXMA M470 printer/scanner. Now the photos I print are very dim. What should I do?

Hi,
Firstly, how long have you been using the new cartridges? Sometimes it takes a few prints before the ink flows properly. Secondly, are you using original cartridges?
Let me know if you still have a problem after doing 10 or 15 prints.
Best wishes,
Graemevm

Scanning

"HP cue scanning flow component problem"

Run or double click on the "HPQDSCTC" file in:

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\Bin OR c:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\Bin

This should resolve the issue and if the issue persists then completely uninstall and reinstall the software from HP's website.

Try this. If it does not work, it may be a photo program like Kodak or Adobe Pjotoshop that may be conflicting with the HP software.
Let me if it works or if not, do you have any of these programs installed.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I did not find a "solution" to the HP CUE - Scanning Flow Component problem. However, I did find a work around the problem. I use my graphics editing program to Import/ Acquire/ From Twain and this will allow me to scan from the printer to my graphics program. I can save the image from there.
Better than not being able to scan to my pc at all ...

Cant seem to get the printer to print documents

Hi,

The issue you are referring could be due to number of reasons, it could be due to the printer was not set as default in the operating system or it could be due to the printer driver corrupt, missing or not installed. It sounds funny is it, cause you said that it says to place a document in the scanner to copy, you must be wondering at this point of time that if the scanner is installed how come the printer is not installed as it is a multifunction printer, however let me tell you that it does happen sometimes, the printer driver gets corrupt or missing however the scanner works just fine, This is just because when you install the printer driver the printer driver and the scanner driver are installed separately even if it is a multifunction printer, So lets first try few steps to check and isolate the issue, here is what you need to perform

  1. Click start, point to printers and Faxes then click on it.
  2. Once the printer and fax page is displayed try and locate the printer icon.
Note: If you find the printer P 6350 icon on the screen it means the driver for the printer is installed, however you need to check if the icon has a check mark on it. If you observe that the printer icon is available but it does not have a check mark, it means that the printer is not set as default printing device, so all you need to do is to right click on the printer and then click on the option “ set this printer as default” to fix the issue. In case if you do not find the printer icon on the page then you need to reinstall the printer driver using the driver disk.

After you are done appropriate steps mentioned above accordingly, you can try to print a test page just to confirm that the issue is fixed, to print a test page right click on the printer icon and then click on properties, select the option “ print a test page at the bottom of the window.

If you need any further assistance please keep me posted.

Regards

Malik Khan
